Is Sessegnon going to start in front of Rose or Davies? I think not. We’re a Champions League Club now. Sessegnon had a tough time at Fulham last season - Spurs have higher standards now.

Sessegnon might make it in the future - if so what’s the problem in waiting and getting him (for free) next season?
I think Poch is the best qualified in deciding when he wants him. If he wants him now then he wants now for a reason.

I feel like you’re more posting again after calming it in recent years, I like it! Does this potentially mean the return of your wonderful banners from time to time?

Will post now and then, and I made match banners for the home page last season, and will this season.
Just depends who does the match ones.

Now stop spamming this thread (y)

Don’t see the point of Sessegnon at this time. He can’t effectively replace Rose or Davies this season and Fulham are evidently asking a lot for him. Why not just wait and get him for free next summer?

We can then use the cash saved to purchase player(s) that can have a real impact THIS season.
I don't think it is about this season, while we want to do well this season I think we are rebooting to some extent, it's the start of a new project, didn't Poch pretty much say that?

He did, and he wasn't half right when he said it would be a painful process, just not in the way most of us thought at the time...

Compare our full backs to Liverpool or city as an example..... we have KWP (inexperienced), Rose (currently being touted), Davies (underwhelming going forward) Foyth (just being converted for right back sake) and....
You know that Liverpool’s fullbacks have only had 1 season in the PL yeah?

Don’t get me wrong, they’re both very good, but hardly experienced. I could be wrong, but I think Aurier and KWP will prove a lot of doubters wrong, I’m also of the opinion that Danny Rose will be staying with us this season.

Marcos Alonso is genuinely one of the worst fullbacks I've ever seen play for a top 6 club. He's slow, can't defend, and is positionally unaware. His only attribute if his left foot, and even then his crosses hit their target 1/10 times Most Chelsea fans seem to share this view as well.

As for Digne, I like the look of him but he's been a failure at two big clubs, I want to see him do it for another season before I consider him in the top tier.
My point was more that you’re making an argument and leaving out two good players that fit the category you are talking about. Not sure i’d take Alonso over Davies either. Neither are good enough though, just don’t see us moving forward with Davies as our first choice

Rose is moving on, sooner or later. He wants to be closer to his family. If Sessegnon is being looked at the long-term left side solution, far better to have him here under Davies and Rose (and Son) then after Rose leaves. Whether Sessegnon is being planned for LB, LWB or LW, Rose has covered them all in the last five years.

Rose has been leaving since before Walker did. He's a strange part of the current Spurs furniture, along with Alderweireld and Eriksen. They've all been leaving for what seems like forever and yet, apart from the odd barb from Rose, are uber pros apparently. Weird.

This will be Robertson's 5th season in the EPL and TAA's 4th.

Sessegnon has great potential, he could be great like Trent and Robertson. I would love for us to sign him. However, if we ship out Rose and are relying Sess as our first choice LB it will certainly be a massive gamble. Having Davies as our first choice LB would also be a step backwards THIS season. I don't think many on here would say Davies is a better LB than Rose. Sess certainly didn't light up the league at LB for Fulham last season (and was instead deployed on the wing), but if he's blooded in here behind a pro like Rose I think he could shine in the future.

It’s fine to bring him in now - but at what cost? If the massive price that Fulham want for this player impacts our ability to bring in Lo Celso, for example, I’d say see you later and spend the money on a player or players that will have an impact his season.

Next season he’s free...

He's not free next season. If his contract expires then Fulham would be due a development fee which would be decided at tribunal. Danny Ings went to Liverpool that way before transfer fees went mental and they were hit with £6.5m up front, £1.5m in player performance related payments, and they had a 20% sell on clause included. Can you see Levy being happy with a 20% sell on clause when good players are selling for £70m+ these days?

And you're just ignoring the fact that we're his number one choice now, but in a years time we might be 4th or 5th choice.

I don't think this has any impact on the Lo Celso deal either. We'll already know how much we're prepared to pay for GLC, and we won't go over that amount even if we miss out on Sessegnon.

Been out this evening. Has there been anything concrete on this one or is it on the Goat at the mo?

Really?

You know they both debuted in the EPL in 2017 yeah?

I’ve had some long lay ins in the past, but have I missed the last 4 years? ?

I agree with the rest of your post though, definitely a gamble, but I really don’t see Rose leaving atm, there’s been absolutely no noise on potential suitors that I’ve seen, so it should hopefully give Sessegnon a full year to work with the fullback whisperer.

I think Robertson was in the PL with Hull from 2014 (was always gutted we didn't sign him but we had peak Rose around that time) but no idea about TAA, as I think he's taken everyone by surprise at right back.

I dont see the fascination with him... I mean he is decent but surely it would be better for his development to stay at Fulham for a year... I also dont see why we cannot just wait till next year to get him on a 'free' and use some of that cash now to add to the offers we have made for players like GLC?

Completely on board. If Sess really wants to work with Poch like has been widely reported then why not wait it out and sign a pre contract Jan.

Whaddayamean JC? GLC is ours ??‍♂️?

Because that's a whole year not in our set up, and a lot can happen in a year? Oh, and you can only sign a pre-contract with a foreign team...

Robertson’s PL debut was in 2016 after Hull got promoted.
