My worry with this signing is that we see him as an attacking player and because of that only buy one of Lo Celso or Fernandes should Eriksen go.

I like Sessegnon and feel he is an ideal long term replacement for Danny Rose, I just hope Poch feels the same.

Nah. Literally everything I have read points to us seeing him as a Rose replacement.

I think short term attacking, long term defensive (remember Clarke joins in a year) is the likely plan.

Think of it this way, your worst fear is that our options for our from four positions end up looking like:

Kane Son Dele LoCelso Sessegnon Lamela Lucas Parrott.

That’s assuming Llorente doesn’t re-sign, he might.

All bar the worst injury crisis (yes, I know it’s Spurs) and that’s very well stocked to fight on four fronts. Remember, we’d only ever have 2, maybe 3 of those on the bench anyway, so 6 internationals and 2 very talented youngsters for 4 positions is very good going.

If we had those 8 plus Llorente, even better. Those 8 plus Bruno, perfect!

His teams just lost their opening league game to newly promoted opposition, why pile on the bad news announcing your best player going.

Underwhelming to be honest if he comes. To lose Rose and assume Sessegnon will convert from left wing to left back and make any form of difference is crazy. Honestly I think we are weakening our defence by 50 % currently and if Toby goes we may as well throw in the towel.

I know right? If Toby goes we'll only have Super Jan in addition to a regular England international, a still young £42m CB who's performed for us in the PL and CL, and one of the best CBs of his age in the world. Not quite sure how we'll cope compared to our competitors begging Kolschielny not to go on strike and force them to play Mustafi, or stuck signing Harry Maguire for £85m.

Yeah full backs are completely underwhelming. Centre backs are down to 2 entering their last year and Sanchez.

Honestly if people don't recognise that we are weakening our defence by letting Trippier go, Toby and Jan go into their last season and basically offer Rose to clubs on the official website and suggest Dier is any replacement for a centre back and that Davies is anywhere near as good as Rose are completely fuecked in the head.

Shit, you're right. Is there some way we can surrender our PL spot this year and just not even bother?
That is just horse shit. Everyone banging on about our attacking options yet any challenge to our defence and I am criticised. Honestly @philll...... at least come back with an argument.

Compare our full backs to Liverpool or city as an example..... we have KWP (inexperienced), Rose (currently being touted), Davies (underwhelming going forward) Foyth (just being converted for right back sake) and....

In Parker’s press conference he basically said he didn’t know where Sessegnon was today, before back tracking and saying it’s because of returning from injury. Also said he has seen the speculation and doesn’t know if he still will be with them. Although he hasn’t been told different yet so is planning for him to be available
