The only issue I see is that the Fulham owner is pretty wealthy and doesn't need the Sessegnon money.

If Fulham think they have a far better chance of getting promoted with Sessegnon which would ultimately lead to far more money upon their Premier League return then maybe Fulham see the risk of losing him on a free a worthwhile thing to do in order to secure promotion.

Sell a player for £20m or keep him and gain promotion and the opportunity to earn £100m in the Prem whilst losing him on a free. This Sessegnon one will drag.

Yeah the Tony/Shahid Khan are the kind of owners you can't particularly trust to follow the script IMO. Even if we think an agreement has been made in principle they could always decide to pull out for a variety of reasons. They can certainly afford to take a hit on a player.

Tony Khan is quite busy with other business ventures, namely AEW as they have just kicked off (two shows down). I, personally, think he will have less to do with Fulham these days himself. More likely Shahid will be the one in major control of the football club.

You are ignoring the fact that Eriksen can only join a few clubs & we remain a very viable option for him, in a footballing and financial sense. Whereas Fulham needed the money from Sess, he also will not play championship football.

I get what you mean to a degree & we will all, always have our own bias, but there is some difference to those scenarios.

Yeah I know (I'm enjoying the AEW product so far), but from what I've heard in interviews he is juggling the two. He was the one pictured with Mitrovic on the new contract announcement, not his father.

Do you have any evidence to back this up?

Not particularly, but we had a lot of positive ITK on Sessegnon in previous windows and it didn't quite come off. I see them as ambitious and proud, not the ideal combination for a transfer we'd see as stacked heavily in our favour.

You're right, that totally justifies the hypocrisy.

Which poster was hypocritical?

I've read both threads. Most people seem resigned to eriksen leaving and are hoping we get it done and get as much for him as we can.
Most people would like sess and would like it done asap for as little as possible.
That isn't hypocritical, that is good business.

I haven't really followed Fulham to be fair, just thought with how much of a project AEW is being in the early days still he may have been in the States more so with Cody, the Young Bucks and Omega. Then again he is just the money I suppose and leaving the actual booking to those guys. Interesting he is taking on both, though.

He's just a very busy guy from what I can tell! Also has his own sports stats company he runs, not to mention the Jacksonville Jaguars. I think he is very hands on with AEW and pro wrestling seems to be his biggest passion but with the TV not starting yet he certainly seems to be hands on with Fulham still. That was the impression he gave on the Steve Austin podcast. Guess it helps when you probably have multiple properties in London and the USA and access to a private jet!

I'm not ignoring that fact at all, I merely stated my thoughts on this particular issue and that is that Fulham may not need the money as much as we do with the sale of Sessegnon.

You are right when you say that there are fewer teams in the Eriksen levels that could tempt him but I don't agree that Sessegnon won't play Chanpionship football if a deal cannot be struck. He would be committing football suicide if he refused to play for the, and missed out on a years worth of development just turned 19 years of age. He'd risk Berahino territory and clubs would twice about his attitude.

I think they will sell him and I think he'll end up at Spurs, just like onthonk Eriksen will end up at Real Madrid but the issue for me is that Fulhams owners don't operate like ours do and Premier League football makes so much of a difference that if they are only being offered let's say £20m for Sessegnon they may be thinking it's worth losing out on that £20m by keeping him and increasing their chances of promotion next season.

£20m lost compared to £50m lost on an Eriksen sale is a pretty big difference. It all depends on what us, Fulham and Real Madrid want and are looking to spend/ receive etc I guess

Haha nope, but he did mention Fulham and said he wasn't walking away from his responsibilities there. Comes across really well.

His father is an interesting story. Worked for a company making car bumpers while in college, ended up buying the company a few years later and became the main supplier of bumpers to Ford, Dodge, and GM.

Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon attracts interest from Manchester United, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham

Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon has been the subject of a string of inquiries from across Europe including long-term interested party Manchester United, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig as Tottenham Hotspur seek to reach a resolution on the teenager’s future.

The 19-year-old, who is now in the last year of his Fulham contract, has been a long-standing target for Spurs who believe that they will do the deal for Sessegnon at around £25 million before the transfer window closes on August 9.

With no prospect of the Fulham academy graduate signing a new deal this summer his club will reluctantly have to sell, although the interest in the market is encouraging.

The England Under-21 is still yet to join up with Fulham for their pre-season camp in Portugal having played for his country at the European championships in Italy last month, where he was injured in the second game against Romania.

Fulham have been successful in agreeing new long-term deals with key players Aleksandar Mitrovic and Tom Cairney with substantial offers for both from Premier League clubs.

Sessegnon is the most valuable long-term asset at Fulham and many of Europe’s top clubs have asked to be kept informed on his future.
United have been long-term admirers of the player and would most likely have bought him last summer had Fulham not won the play-off final and been promoted, with the teenager determined to stay for another season. Inter Milan have also made enquiries, as have promoted Aston Villa, on a major recruitment drive this summer.

Fulham have been able to resist offers for their leading players and have sought, on the whole, to keep their team together. With Sessegnon still at the club for the time being, Fulham have retained nine of the starting XI who beat Aston Villa in the play-off final at Wembley in May last year.

Scott Parker knows that Sessignon is not part of the club's future and he will want to build his own squad so I think he will be prepared to say let him go and I will bring in players to replace him rather than wait another year. I know Khan is loaded but he's not going to hang onto a player and lose money for no good reason as it's just bad business.

Plus Sessegnon has been pretty loyal to them and helped get them a promotion.

Would be bad form to hold him back from a move to a CL club.

Ali z on coys still expects the bros to happen as does the itk on here. That’s good enough for me. I suspect the injury has made us less anxious and we will drag it out trying to get the best deal with us knowing the player wants to join us.
