Has very little ability Imo. Saw a lot of him in his breakthrough season for Fulham and England youth. Doesn’t really have anything beyind mediocre ability in any area, was just a very good athelete. His age, and sensationalised reporting of his figures that year, which I think he got almost exclusively as a forward not left back as everyone was saying, and being similar in age to the more talented young English players… and levy throws 35 mill or whatever it was…

He’s really poor on the ball, like his feet are moving underwater.

He's still a kid, he's 21 ffs. He needs to be given time, we've not exactly had the best environment to showcase talent these past few years.

He has the chance to compete with Reguilon for that LWB spot.

Conte turned Moses into a good wing-back, so there's no reason why he can't do that with Sessegnon.

I was very excited when we signed Sess. Hasn’t worked so far. However, I don’t think he’s been fit enough yet to compete with Reguillon. When he is, I hope he gets a fair crack of the whip.

His original hamstring injury was a really bad one too. He’s probably naturally concerned it’ll happen again, plus he’s having to deal with secondary injuries which often occur when returning from a bad one.
Add to that the turmoil at the club since he signed and it’s been tough for the lad.

Certainly hope it works out for him.

In Conte's wingback system it'll be perfect for Sessengon if he can get fit and stay healthy injury wise.

As far as goal scoring potential from a fullback, he could be the biggest threat in our team if Conte can get him fit and raring to go. His ability to make runs and ghost in to score could be put to good use. He was lethal for Fulham ( though he did play as a LW, RW and sometimes CF) in that regard.

It is a massive massive chance for him if we do play 352. He should be excited to be involved. But so far I'm not sure he's got "it". He needs to grow up fast.

Sess must be thrilled by the arrival of Conte. He built his reputation as a youngster as a wingback who thrived on scoring goals and creating chances in and around the box. He is the exact profile of wing back Conte loves and he'll enjoy the challenge of coaching Sess back into a top player.

He'll be serious competition to Reggie as well, and worst case scenario if Reggie does go back to Real it means we'll only need one LWB next summer and not 2!

Not to mention Gil, who could very much also be utilized as a LWB in Conte's system.

Exciting times ahead.

I can’t imagine Gil is anywhere near to having the physicality needed to play LWB yet
Right, he needs to bulk up and be coached defensively, but Conte also doesn’t rely on remarkably physical wingbacks in his system (i.e. Hakimi and Perisic) as he needs his wide players to provide width and create.

He has the pace, passing, flair and work rate. The raw ingredients are there.

See how well he defends the premier league’s top dribbler in the clip below at 0:15

I think he’ll be a very decent LWB if he can stay fit. I’m not sure how all these injuries will effect his pace, which tbh was not as good as everyone imagines in the first place. Crazy to think he was actually ahead of Foden and Mount. If I remember correctly he didn’t play in U17 World Cup with them as he was playing up with U20 group. He doesn’t have that stardust to be a modern day winger/inside forward. But one of his best attributes is his ability to sniff a goal which from wing back he could do very well as we are seeing with James and Chillwell right now. But I do fear over his fitness it doesn’t look great.

Injuries have held up his progress but he has talent... Needs to get his act together now though with the arrival of AC. I did enjoy his goal against Bayern, in the CL, a couple of seasons back. Fingers crossed for him.

He was 18/19 years old playing in the Championship and in his best season scored 15 goals and had 6 assists, all from playing either LB, LM or LW. Not sure your following statements " Has very little ability/ mediocre ability and being a very good athlete" are close to being accurate or fair. For context, Adama Traore, in the same season in the Championship, had 5 goals and 10 assists and he's a far better athlete and significantly better dribbler than Sessegnon. Unless, you think luck had a strong part to play in Sessegnon's output.

Not really true, as an attacking outlet he is a very intellegent footballer, particularly for his age, and good technical ability. Whst he doesnt have is skill and dribbling ability. And that's why he wont ever be a top level winger. He is still young, very young in fact and has spent most of the time injured. He has a part to play. Under Conte he needs to establish himself as second choice and build from there.

Hang on, was he 30m? If so thats a fucking joke. We cant afford top end players but can layout 30m on Sess, 40m, Sanchez and 40m on Gill?? Thats nuts. No wonder we cant afford top end players, we've fk all left by the time we've spunked it up the wall.
A 'prospect' should never be over 20m. Not for us anyway when half the first 11 didnt even cost much mpre than 30m.
Spurs do spend a lot of money contrary to a lot of opinions but christ we spend it badly.
