Johnson seems to have a habit of finishing off really difficult chances but not consistently enough. You can see with those finishes that he has talent and he will have a very high ceiling if he can become more consistent but he's not there yet.

Hopefully hanging around with Son will improve his finishing

Sounds like Son in his first few seasons here. He scored banger after banger, but was awful when clean through on goal with time to think. He's not like that anymore, so there's definitely hope for Johnson as well.

Im surprised so many of you have this view of Johnson. He's played less than 180 minutes for us (I think). When Richardson came, he had the same buzz and excitement. A player doesn't just turn shit, it'a a phase they go through.

Someone said he’s an ice cold finisher - he’s not that at all. Nobody is knocking the lad, just challenging the revisionism that he’s a natural goalscorer. He has qualities, but natural finishing ability wouldn’t be listed as one by anyone who’s watched him in detail.

I’ve not seen a single comment saying he’s shit, because he isn’t at all.

I have seen Richarlison play in the flesh in 5 matches

During that period he has got 3 goals 2 assists in 274mins
Thats 1 goal every 91mins
Thats 1 assist every 137mins
Thats 1 goal or assist every 55mins

Frankly I think we need to find a way I can go to away matches
Updated:
So far 3 goals 3 assists in 355mins
Thats 1 goal every 118 mins
Thats 1 assist every 118 mins
Thats 1 goal or assist every 59 mins

Like I said, we need me to get someone away tickets

Still like him and his competitiveness.... but why is he wearing Sissokos shooting boots all of a sudden. He was scoring bicycle kicks at the world cup. Also the controlling the ball on his back and trying to shoulder it past his opponent was baffling when at times even the simple stuff has alluded him lately... Ange went apeshit on the touchline after that.

Confidence. That’s it in a nutshell.

For me, the price tag is hard to justify on what we’ve seen in terms of goals and assists, plus his overall consistency but I thought he was positive last night and played some great quick passes and had some excellent touches. The final piece isn’t there for him yet but I think when he does find his shooting boots he’ll push on. I hope so at least.

The one thing Ange gasn't solved yet. But he's playing him and if he gets some important goals the Ange effect will course through his veins and he'll become a worldbeater.

No man left behind at this point. We support him and get behind him, he’s not a shite footballer, we need to rally.

Thought last night was one his best performances for us yet. I think looking forward he probably won't be with us in a couple of seasons time as he doesn't quite have the technical ability to play as a winger, and isn't clinical enough to play as a striker in Ange's system. But for now I think he is a perfectly serviceable squad player who is contributing to our performances.

He ran and worked yesterday!
He had a good game he just need some goals
He always works hard, if he stayed more central and waited he would get more goals. It’s his running that’s creates space, at the start of the season he was basically a false 9, then Son stepped up as our main striker and he’s having to start over.

Yeah he put a shift in and got a good assist.

Desperstely want him to deliver more end product.

You could see the frustration in Ange when he blazed over.

Sometimes it’s the ones you put the more work into are more rewarding in the long run. We can’t on one hand say he’s a terrible player, limiting us to 10 men but yet admit this is the best start to a season, in how many decades? He does work, he does contribute, it’s maybe not totally clear on MOTD highlights.

Ahh is that what the showboating comment I saw somewhere was referring to?

Also "belief" (I boycotted the WC so I could be wrong) but weren't Brazil heavy favourites to win it? Them being knocked out wasn't in the script.

I do believe some players struggle with price tag pressure, however I don't think that's Richies issue, he was bought in largely as Kane's backup (playing insipid football under a bitchy Italian) now he sees himself as having to prove he's worthy as being Kanes replacement and not bagging on him but that's a fools errand and putting yourself under unnecessary pressure and overthinking it.

Forget trying to "prove" you can be Kanes equal play your natural game and maybe you start putting away a few.

Hopefully it clicks for him.
