I knew there was something that reminded me of when we signed Romero.

I had a vague memory that when we signed Romero there were some question marks over his passing ability from some analysts and Serie A watchers. I just went back and looked at his passing data from the 20/21 Serie A season and his passing stats were indeed poor to average. His progressive passing stats were very low.

I remember being surprised at just how good he was on the ball when he started playing for us.

Take a look for yourself here and go to the 20/21 season:

I reckon we have identified that Dragusin has untapped passing potential much like Romero when we signed him and so believe that he could well be good at playing out from the back for us.
Hopefully you are on to something here.

Also, Romero is like a 9 out of 10 passer from CB and if Dragusin ends up being a 7 out of 10 passer that would be absolutely fine when he will have the likes of Romero, Bissouma, Bentancur, Porro and Udogie around him.

I almost hate myself for making the comparison as he’s Eastern European…but I’m dreaming of a Vidic/Ferdinand style partnership with VdV. There, I said it. They look like they’d work so well together.

Still a young man and bags of potential, fingers crossed he hits the ground running, but no shame if he doesn't. Luckily, we have good depth at CB now :smug:

It's funny, this topic came up a while ago and while a lot of us threw in John Terry/Wayne Bridge for a laugh, I don't think there's a partnership so natural and effective as Vidic and Ferdinand. They were fantastic.

Kin'ell some of you lot can't keep a level head regardless of whether it's positive or negative news can you. The melt downs at the first sign of any negative social media, to turning this guy into the second coming of Beckenbauer(RIP) before he's put the shirt on. He's still young and learning so lets see how he does before we elevate him to the point where we are disappointed if he doesn't have a 10 out of 10 performance.

Be excited by all means(I am) but at the same time don't wonder why everyone you know hates Spurs if you are spouting some of the stuff I'm reading in here to them.

Having been crying out for cover at CB since the summer, why are some of you trying to shoehorn all three of VDV, Cuti and Dragusin into the starting XI? The amount of sprinting our CBs do is a reason why they will be more susceptible to hamstring pulls than other CBs. I suspect we’ll see plenty more muscle injuries in that area under Ange so each will get plenty of starts, but when all 3 are fit, we’ll have the luxury of rotating one if they need a rest.

We’re still 1 CB short in my opinion (hence the Lloyd Kelly links).

Scenes on his debut when Dragonsteaks inadvertently trips over his unraveled man bun (whilst being the last man in defence) and admits in the post match interview that he’s modelled his game on Davinson Sanchez since he was 10!

Agreed. The goal would be to have 3/4 be able to make it through a season, europe, and cup fixtures while not losing much/any quality.

I look at City. If you check out their recent matches you'll see rotation of Stones, Akanji, Dias, and Ake. Each player has sat on the bench at least one time... yes they haven't been as good this season but they always seem to rotate when everyone is healthy.

Have to say though it's a bit weird not to see Munn mentioned in all of this.
