Feels like if we don’t sign porro now it will be the tipping point for a lot of spurs fans. Regardless of where the blame lies I can see this being a key moment in compounding the mass discontent that’s been simmering for almost all of the season.

It may be unfair to blame Levy in this particular instance, but over the years he has built a reputation of being an absolute tight arse to deal with who takes pleasure in pulling people's pants down in public. Sporting will have been well aware of this, just like everybody else, and that isn't a good place to be entering negotiations, ever. There should be good will on both sides, at least to start off with, but I think Levy has led us to a place where this is hardly ever the case.

I don't disagree. But this deal has just been one consistent change of story...clause in clause out its like the hokey kokey! Now its fees down to us or sporting. Levy isn't apparently negotiating. Its just they same old story of social media people read things written, where people (Gary Jacobs) use words like appears..meaning that they are not based on fact. We either have or have not

Seriously Levy isn't involved on the finances even though he ultimately makes the appointments and over sees the contract.

Also no need to be abusive... I haven't resulting to swearing.
If you read the thread you'd understand. Hope that clarifies everything for you. Have a nice day. ?

Im sorry but this would sum up the sorry estate of affairs this club is at.
Another first choice target missed out on, for a Plan B.

Also works as a good negotiation tool. You want us to pay the 2.6 million. Well we have another option we can get and you are left with an unhappy player and 48 million less.

Who knows how it will all turn out, but the scale of the reactions of people's n here going from 0-100 is a bit worrying.

Tbh even if Porro still comes i don't think it was a good window if our only other business was Gil out and Danjuma in.
Yeah it's like 5/10. Considering what other clubs have done, it's just enough to tread water. Without Porro it's 2 and considering asset/player depreciation this level of inactivity would be a disaster.

Porro won't be too happy after that long goodbye to the fans. I don't think Sporting hold the cards here, Porro won't want to be staying.

Don't worry, I'm sure Chelsea have a spare £50m to burn

So sick of this pathetic kind of accusation being levelled at anyone who doesn’t join the ENIC out/fuck Levy pile on.

It’s not just you either. I’ve seen this kind of post numerous times over the last few weeks.

“Are you Levy?”
“Are you Levy’s son?”
“Are you on the payroll?”

Fucking grow up.
When you see other clubs operations and getting deals concluded or Bournemouth out bidding you for a player we've been linked to for two years... you can question your club. This site is a means to voice your concerns opinions and also be educated.

Levy is a share holder and figure head of the club. When thing ain't going well his name will be called.

Seems there could be movement soon. Sporting are posturing as replacement price is more than expected we feel is the issue.

Read the fucking thread. Seriously. Levy hasn't been involved in this, it's been intermediaries and Fab, and WLB has just said Levy needs to step in a get this over the line.

Read the thread. It's like you're posting for winner ratings, much as some people are on Twitter for likes and RTs.

Read. The. Thread.
I've been following the thread and there is contrasting information. On the one hand, it's Sporting who have moved the goalposts, on the other hand it sounds like we verbally agreed to pay the cost of financing and have now reneged.

For Levy not being involved, I take that as he's not directly involved - but he will have set the parameters for the intermediaries, obviously they wouldn't have carte blanche and nobody would expect them to. My suspicion is that the parameters set are very tight - which would seem to be supported by the <£3m quibble on which the deal now appears to hang.

In the end, whatever does or doesn't happen with this particular deal, there seems to be a critical problem at the club in terms of strategic direction, this transfer window is a symptom of that. It was encouraging to read that we have 'realised that plan b/c/d doesn't cut it, doesn't improve the quality of the squad' - that is very welcome, but you then really do have to go out and get your plan a.

The two extremes are Chelsea, who will happily go out and overpay to get the players they want, and Brighton, who are smarter operators with a fully integrated club structure, who plan and recruit coherently with great success in replacing the players/manager when poached. Whereas we seem to be caught between two stools, strategically incoherent, flitting from one approach to another, lacking courage to stick to a defined plan (assuming we have one), failing to commit to a direction and often panic buying as a result.

Ultimately, when you're the leader of the organisation then final responsibility rests with you - you hire the intermediaries, the sporting director, the manager, sign the players etc. Not directly necessarily, but as the figurehead they are seen as your decisions. As it should be.

To the poster above, you said 'read the thread'. To Levy I might say 'read the room'.

That's why there's so much frustration at the moment - we don't know what we are trying to be, and I fear Levy doesn't either.

Didn't that player say he wants to stay in Italy (or near) for his kid? Might be why we dropped our interest

Whether it’s Levy’s fault or not, the fans won’t see it that way, & every home game he will realise that, if this deal doesn’t go through.

The fans are already restless with him, (this deal aside) & he simply therefore has to ‘push the boat’ & meet to their ‘demands’.

It won’t make the fans envy him less, but at least it’s something to ‘give back’.
If you replaced the word Levy with word Tottenham. I really don't get some people
