haha

Don't start fighting with each other over this.

It might well still happen and we sign the bloke.

And some of you need to stop taking everything as gospel and wait until it plays out before going berserk. Fuck me will you never learn :D
Considering we take everything literally you might want to rephrase this one.

I think most people just expect this stuff now with us.

That's the sad thing lol.

"Player desperate to move", that should also help somewhat. Gonna keep an eye on Bellerin also, see if he rocks up at Sporting in these next couple of days.

Think this is salvageable.

Agreed. But we shouldn't let Sporting take the piss. We move on.

Sick and tired of these European clubs rinsing English clubs but when we want to sell Bryan to Sevilla, no permanent transfer but a loan with no option!

They rinse us when we're buying from them then want us to give away our players for free.

Could also be the reason why we can't shift deadwood.
It’s not surprising that European Clubs try to rinse English clubs/maximise transfer fees when you look at the money spent in the premier league compared to all other leagues in Europe. It’s a massive divide.

I suspect that they’re trying to make Porro force the move or slightly change the conditions to be more favourable. I’d be surprised if it was off at the moment and I’d expect it to be in the balance.

Should’ve just given them 50m a few weeks ago and got it done. City spent like 200m trying to sort out their full back situation back in the day. 50m is a nice round acceptable number for sporting, it might be a bit over the value for us but you’d be solving your right back issue for the next 7/8 years. When it’s a vital position you sometimes have to just get it done.

SL know we are desperate for the player, but its day 30 of a 31 day window, so we have given them all the power over this deal in order save a few million and structure a deal the way we want. They can fuck us over last minute, act in bad faith and we can either swallow it or walk away from a deal that has the potential to transform the second half of the season. This is the risk when you leave it to the last f****g minute.

Everyone knew when this transfer window started and would end. It starts on 1 Jan which is the day after 31 December every year. It wasn't sprung on us out of the blue. We had 6 weeks off before during the World Cup too.

We have known for over a year that we don't have a decent RWB to play in a Conte system, and we have known for longer than that that we have a CB problem - unless I am mistaken we have signed only 2 CB's in over 5 years (Rodon and Romero), during a period in which Toby and Jan have left us.

And its not as if we have no games in January in which a good RWB may have proved useful either. Given that a couple of points may mean the difference between champions league and Europa or the conference which itself may mean tens of millions in lost revenue, it is once again a case of ENIC being PENNY WISE POUND FOOLISH.

I got a tonne of neg reps on the Hincappie thread yesterday for saying "Tottenham "We Tried" Hotspur" - this is exactly the shit I was referring to.

We may manage to get this over the line in the end, but that won't alter the fact that if we had shown some willing we might have had this player available for key games against City and the goons, which might have turned out differently as a result.

ENIC OUT !!

If Sporting have changed terms, what can we do?!
But I guess the principle remains, we've had the whole month, get this business done early to avoid this situation happening OR have time for plan B should this occur.
Levy will never learn!

I know everyone saying Sporting are to blame and moved the goal posts BUT why didn't Spurs/Levy not have a written agreement? Piss poor negotiating verbal offer means fuck all!
Plus why did it take so long near 4 weeks what a coincidence now if this falls through it's too late to get another player of Porro quality!
Levy will be delighted if this falls through and saves him 40million.
Levy special transfer window, zero spent and one loan signing.
Fuck this had enough!

Given them more than the buy out clause?

Sporting are playing us here.

I'm laughing at some of the people on here and on social media appearing to take actually glee and pride in telling everyone "I told you so" about this potentially going south.

Absolute weirdos taking joy so you can say you were

A) Right
B) And have a go at the club when it appears not to be our actual fault here(save for the time it's taken)

Wait a minute I’m still waiting for Ornstein to come good
Why? Hardly our fault if, and it's a big if, it's true. These journalists have proved over and over they don't know what is going on with this one, so I'm not overly worried just yet.

I’m still waiting for his exclusive about google sponsoring the stadium to come true!

I swear every window it’s like it’s people’s first.
