Yeah. It's just weird how you and others focused on an off-the-cuff, irrelevant-to-the-point remark. Can't people recognise that in text? Odd.
If it’s so irrelevant, then why did you post it?

No offence, but if you come into a thread and say “the opposition was crap” and little else, then people are going to respond to that point. Your original post didn’t really give me or anyone else anything else to respond to.

I watched the whole game - Sarr was the same as everyone else - he did some things I liked. He did some things that need to be worked on.

I know - shocking assessment for a 1st preseason game.

Fucking hell, he's 19. He could become world class he could be average or some level in between. The only clue we really have is how he performed to prompt us into buying him and even then it's potential which may or may not be realised. If he stays with us this season he might get minutes, increasing in number depending on how he goes but it's likely we won't see him at his very best for two or three years.

One thing is almost certain, he'll have some poor games on the way. Far too early to judge really. Let's see if we can coax a player out of him.

I think I heard Yaya Toure is still with us as a coach right but for the younger teams, I just hope that Yaya gets to work closely with him because Yaya is the perfect player for him to aspire to be.

Sarr has the stature stamina athleticism and ability to be a top class midfield general in the mold of Steven Gerrard. I feel he should be loaned out to the championship similar to how we developed Skipp however if we see his potential coming through consistently early and Conte see different he will be part of the squad.

I'd really like to see him stay at Spurs this fall - get into a strength and fitness routine with Spurs, get acclimated to England, train with the CMs - and then maybe go out on loan in January to a Championship club for the remainder of the season.

He’s played in Ligue 1 for 2 seasons and I’ve seen him run the midfield against psg. The championship is a step down imo. Agree he should be playing in England though

Yes and no. Its a different style - and closer to PL. Plus, the only benefit to going on loan is if he is going to play. And, with a January loan, that is probably more likely at a championship side, than a lower-level PL side.

If he can't get a loan where he will play, he might as well stay at Spurs for the year - but I do think getting matches will help his development.

The biggest development opportunity for him this season is to get into the Senegal first eleven for the World Cup. He was only a fringe player when Senegal won the Africa cup of Nations, so in order to improve on that he would need a loan IMO.

I don’t think it’s likely for him to get a PL loan and I don’t think it’s desirable with a Championship loan. Maybe a mid-table french side with a return clause in January?

Don’t like the Milan move, he needs full matches as a starter. If he’s gonna be a rotation piece and play sparingly may as well do it here, Conte is surely going to help him grow.

With Kessie gone there is a vacancy in midfield for a player like Sarr. Milan do not look like they have much money to spend given their lack of transfer activity so far. Might be the perfect time. Don’t know how keen Pioli is on youngsters though

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this whole revival of Milan was built on young players (and Zlatan). I think a loan there would be really good if we can't find a Premier League team willing to take him as a starter.

I have a good feeling about this kid and I’d like to see him get a chance with the first team as soon as possible but if another loan is best for his development then so be it. I just can’t help but think that training under Conte would be as valuable to him as any loan for certain aspects of his game and his overall integration into the team.

I think if we bring in Zaniolo say and keep White then loaning Sarr makes a lot of sense. If AC offer him the role Kessie had them I couldn’t think of a better loan. They are in a really good spot right now, play some excellent football, are in CL, won the title. Perfect loan for him at this point in his career IF he will be a regular starter. If not then zero point.

If no Premier League team want to take him on loan then AC Milan will be a great move for him. Far better than a Championship loan. Our 3 former Serie A players have come straight into the league and done great. I think people over value the whole being in the same country thing. The kid needs minutes at a high level where he can further develop his game.
