We took him off and spared the injury worsening... what more could the staff have done? On this occasion the club or medical staff are exempt from blame. I'd say it was well handled all things considering.
Not blaming anyone just saying it was just as much luck than judgement. Dragusin was warming up hard so clearly they knew of an issue. We was lucky it wasn't made worse by him playing on. Who knows maybe a Villa break where he is full speed it's a worse injury. Nothing wrong with considering how we can improve these situations.

In all honesty could have just taken him off at half time rather than risk it. Now we have Dragusin we can just be more cautious. We need to protect players better, if they feel something don't chance it. Hopefully the squad build will be complete in the summer so we can just bring players off knowing we have quality to come on.

Easy with hindsight, but the game was in the balance at half time.

I'd imagine I'd we were 3 up at HT they would have made the change at HT

He went out, tried and then just minutes later went off. Also we have zero idea what was assessed/said at half time.
He went off injured but went in not necessarily injured but clearly must have felt something. I don't think it's such a bad suggestion that a player not long back from hamstring injury who feels an issue in his hamstring might just be taken off as a precaution. It's a positive option we have now with Dragusin. The risk of injury is higher after a break and the muscles cool down. Those initial minutes after coming back on are key so if a player feels something I'm just suggesting maybe we just don't risk it.

I think he was mismanaged in general when coming back from a serious muscle injury, especially after signing a top young CB who was heavily coveted by 3 other top clubs. He should’ve had his minutes managed better, especially during the period where we had midweek matches (city brentford and everton in a week, he played every minute) as well as having felt something against Palace.

Hope it really is nothing serious.

Like I said we have no idea what was said or done at half-time other than speculation because Dragusin was warming up. For all we know Ange and the medical staff agreed to let him try it with the fact we have an international break coming up after Fulham. Was it a risk? Absolutely. Watkins went down last night then carried on, scored and went off shortly after. It's not just us or our players who want and try to carry on.

It doesn't matter what other clubs do. We've had a lot of injuries this season so something is not right. Why not try to improve it then?

I think 2 muscular injuries in the last few months should mean we are pragmatic here and perhaps give him as long as possible to be as "fit" as possible.

Was it ever clarified what the injury was?

I remember the physio looking at his knee iirc.

It seems like the pundits decided it was a hamstring when he went down and no one has confirmed or denied it.
