If he cared about success on the pitch both players would be bought now.
Which doesn't make any sense to me. Surely he wants the financial benefits of Champs League, high league placing etc. Even he's not dumb enough to know we need 1 or 2 new CB's in

with the lowest cost possible. the game is about profits but never been glory
I do think there's an element of truth in that. I would guess that the most optimally profitable state to be in, as a football club, is one that:
- regularly qualifies for the CL
- gets to the latter stages of the CL
- continually develops (whether through purchase or youth team) good young players to sell on
-...but doesn't get involved in the mega deals needed (i.e. buying Mbappe for £150m+) to breach that marginal gap between good and great

I think he'd be delighted to get there. By the way, so would I - we were there at one point, but we lost our way through bad managerial hires and poor acqusitions.

We also forgot how to sell for a good profit i.e. Rose, Eriksen etc.

Which is worse the people that make the accounts, or the people that fall for them?
The 'makers'...........BUT, you'd think by now people would know the kind of drivel you get on there and be a lot more careful before reproducing that shit anywhere, let alone on here. A bit of care would go along way.

It isn't as if it isn't pointed out on here pretty regularly, so there's a certain frustration surrounding it. Take a bit of care and it improves the whole SC thing.

People have to stop taking everything he says as fact rather than opinion.
Maybe. I'm no fan of his but let's be honest here, people need to stop taking everything as fact and start dishing out the salt. With all of it. From all of them.

The best thing people can do is take it all in, then filter it, salt it and be smart enough not to take anything as 'gospel' and take in the bigger picture.

Would be happy with this at the ultimate destination for us? Would you be worried about winning trophies or competitions on top of this?

I think as a medium term destination, then yes, I'd be happy enough with this until the reality of our situation changes.

If we stayed in that area, we would build up the financial resources and the infrastructure required to take the next step.

Then we can worry about trophies - until then, it'd be a pretty good spot to be in.

The more I see from this fella, the less I'm convinced.

He might develop into a good CB but doesnt seem anywhere near ready to start for us this season
