Reminds me a bit of Maddison. Has a similarly languid yet composed style in possession, keeps the ball well. And seems to have an eye for that threaded pass as well.

You can just tell with special players that they treat the ball like it's their friend.

They don't tense up when they have the ball.

He looks languid because he's calm and fluid and already knows what he's going to do.

Devine has some of that, but a less rounded profile right now.

Hypothetically if we got him I'd sell Hojbjerg and GLC and put Bergvall and Devine in.

We'd be set in midfield for a decade, just as we are at CB.

I think you have to assume that - I am pretty sure he was seen in Barça - so, if his mind was made up - his agent would have told us.

Apparently we have offered him a place in the first team squad.

Excellent to hear. I read before we were suggesting he would go in the academy which would be silly imo. Plus he’d be HG eventually. Would be a phenomenal pick up but with him wanting Barca you know he will go there. How they afford him i don’t know. But somehow they will blag it again.

Would be nice to have stuck a bid in that they simply can't afford to match. Which would probably only have to be about €10m in their current state. If they stop being able to attract players in on reputation alone, and are also skint, then they truly are in the mud.

Then hope to sell enough players in the summer to be able to re-register Roque, this lad, and any new signings.

If they don't raise enough in sales then everyone is left in the lurch and they're in deep shit.

Which will inevitably drive the prices down for their players.

These are probably the arguments we've made, and hence why the player is thinking it over.

I honestly think he should sit tight until the summer (or join us obvs!).

Not sure where this narrative has come from but he follows Deki, Son, Dele, Sessegnon, Bale on Insta. Hardly as though he doesn’t know we exist!
