You can't sugar coat his mistakes. He attempted to dribble out of the back under intense pressure (one time against two players) and gave up two glaring opportunities. Those could have cost the game and the series. They were that serious and i'm guessing there were due to arrogance. Poch even said something along those lines but he said it much nicer than i did. At the same time, you have to appreciate and applaud his obvious skill and then his mentality in not wilting after those mistakes. And those that are espousing that he play CDM may be onto something. In games past, he also had a Tobyesque like ability to read where the ball was going well before it got there. When you consider his age, you really have to wonder what his upside is. He could be special. And the the Beckenbauer comparison that HW61 did is spot on. Although he probably needs to demonstrate a little more of his ability to distribute since his body of work is still small.

He’s going to be some player. Congratulations on who found him.
He is so confident on the ball and has a lot of attributes to be a really good player. Poch’s words post match are really interesting. He knows how good he is, it’s just about giving him opportunity now.
Few old boys in the crowd around me weren’t happy with him but I guess you get fans that are pretty much clueless once they’ve made their mind up on a player. Too ignorant to change it.

Have to echo the positivity. Once he cuts out the mistakes, and I'm sure he will, because they are easy mistakes to cut out, he will be immense. It's not like he is making mistakes from wrong positioning, or just bad defending, it's just over playing or a lack of experience.
His ability on the ball is frightening but he has also impressed me with his defending. Even that first half chance for Dortmund which Lloris saved from the header. Foyth got something on it which slowed the pace of the ball. He also stopped Sancho's cross with great positioning.
I think he is going to be a super star.
Phil Jones rated this a winnerI think we need to keep in mind he’s a baby in CB terms. Until CBS are 26/27 they make mistakes. When Foyth is that age (as with Sanchez) he will be immense. However, not many CL teams have a young, first choice CBS so it’s really important we keep Toby and Jan for a few seasons more.
Lost you at ‘series’...
As soon as he learns when and when not to do Cruyff turns on the edge of his own box, he's going to be some player. He's so good I'm confident we can absorb the loss of Toby next season fairly painlessly.
Completely agree. Foyth's performances seem to veer between clear MOTM and massive liability, sometimes within the same game. I like how Poch is gradually easing him in, and he's more than capable cover, but he doesn't quite look ready to take Toby's place yet.Think this is premature to be honest. He has had moments of class and composure, but he's also made some big mistakes in most games he's played. He has a very bright future but I think next season we'll take a step back if Toby goes. Sanchez has played far more football and he still makes mistakes, neither are ready to seamlessly take Toby's place without effect.
I think in 2-3 years if they both stay then we'll have a world class pairing, but could be a rocky road defensively up to then.
