If anything, I hate how deep our WB's have been starting these past 9 months, it's made them easy to defend against. Emerson was very high and wide when Hojbjerg slid the ball out to him in the build up to the fourth. Sessegnons disallowed goal saw him right up on the fullbacks shoulder.
Yes but they can’t be stood on the shoulder of the fullback every single time. We play with two midfielders we need options to pass side you can’t just pass in behind every time

True, there needs to be a balance. Just stating that last season all of our wingbacks were the complete opposite.

Pretty sure if Perisic is standing that high then that’s the instruction.

Love his impact today. During the water breaks, he was trying to motivate and give advice to the players and then his corner led to our 2nd goal. Looks like Conte is trying to get him into peak fitness before he starts games and I think he'll be a starter in the team before the month is out.

I hope he can and a few more new signings can start Vs Wolves

Three times the player than Sess. Good delivery and this experience, how to deal the dramatic situations.

Looking forward to see more of him.

Surprised it took Conte so long to sub him in, James on a yellow and playing very forward seemed like perfect scenario for him. All attackers benefit from space he creates, not to mention his crossing. He is basically worse Son but way more consistent.

He’s got to be first choice from here on. I understand not changing the team from last week but it’s time to integrate the new signings now.

He and Bissouma changed the game, specifically Perisic.

The fact that he took the set piece before the corners with his right and the two corners with his left is incredible. He'll be a game changer for us.

Agreed.

He is a huge upgrade on Sess and Reguilon.

And at that pressured state too, he must be so comfortable and confident. Sonny also used his left on a fk today which sailed high, also unusual; maybe some drill they did with the new fk coach.

Thought he struggled to get into the game personally but them two deliveries from corners at the end were both class

Conte knows better than us where he is on the fitness curve which will have a large bearing on whether and when he becomes first choice starter. That corner though was a thing of beauty, borderline undefendable when you have players like Harry and Richarlison running into the space.

I thought it was interesting the way Richarlison and Lucas both ran into the same area as Harry. That prevented the defenders coming in to challenge which helped give Harry a clear header. I wonder if that's something the new set piece coach has worked on? I'll keep an eye out to look for it in future games.

Do we have someone who can actually take a good set piece?!? With our big side and a specialist set piece coach he could get close double digit assists in all comps this season

Salvaging a point from losing positions, or taking all three from a set piece late on is what all the best teams have in their arsenal.

We've got that with Perisic along with his nous down the left flank which bodes very well for this season.

I wonder what Conte means when he says Perisic isn't the player he knows from before. I guess it's fitness related since his injury? Conte has said it twice now including post game today. So that's why he isn't starting yet.

Outside of his 1st Christian Eriksen like 1st corner, his corners were a beautiful thing to see. all coming into dangerous spots with great weight and angle.

Yep he had a bad calf injury end of last season so he’s not quite fully up to fitness yet. Getting closer and closer
