Really? I don't remember hearing that nugget but that's not to say it didn't happen.IIRC Jenas found out he was surplus to requirements when his key card to enter the training facilities was denied and Ledley was sent out to tell him.
Wouldve been Redknapp. I wasn’t a fan of Jenas as a player but he was at the club for what, 7 years by that point? If true(heavily questionable) would be a terrible way to treat a player. Redknapp took Jenas to QPR with him so i doubt there was any issue between manager and playerReally? I don't remember hearing that nugget but that's not to say it didn't happen.
Also, that would surely be a managers decision, rather than the club? Who was the manager then? Jol?
Seems a strange way for a club to behave though, if true.
I vaguely remember Jenas mentioning it during a TV interview. It wouldn’t be surprising as AVB was a bit odd. He banned the players from using the gym (aka the very expensive gym at our very expensive training ground) and whenever a player was using it he would send in one of his coaches in to stare at the player.Really? I think it was AVB.I vaguely remember Jenas mentioning it during a TV interview. It wouldn’t be surprising as AVB was a bit odd. He's been number 1 all his life and wants to keep on playing. Fair play to him, that's his choice to makeLloris is deluded, just take the retirement plan offered by Lazio and have a good time in Italy.
Why? Nobody said he should be starting. A world cup winning captain could easily be of value to the squad of young players we are assembling. Maybe he could do his coaching badges whilst here, we have to pay him anyway so we may as well squeeze whatever we can put of him.
Edit: I just recalled that I think he has a first choice clause in his Spurs contract. It may not be possible to keep a fit Lloris as number 2 without issues
He didn't play Hugo when he first arrived, kept Brad as number 1 for whatever reason, just seemed a bit pig headed on AVB's part.Ah yeah, AVB was a little...odd.
To be fair, players doing their own S&C work outside of the programmes the club have given them isn’t the best idea. Makes it impossible for the sports scientists to gauge their recovery times etc and so risks injury.I vaguely remember Jenas mentioning it during a TV interview. He also alienated VDV when he first arrived. At least he didn't block the signing of Lloris though (he might even have pushed for it).He didn't play Hugo when he first arrived, kept Brad as number 1 for whatever reason, just seemed a bit pig headed on AVB's part.
