Explains that last kick.

This is going to be a tough stretch without him - for all of his faults, he is still an important player for us.

That's a long time. Hugo has had more downs than ups recently, but feel we'll miss his shot-stopping at times...

Forster is a decent back-up, but GK is going to be such a priority this summer.

For me the most infuriating thing apart from the mistakes, is lobbing the ball in the air when passing to wing backs. Get it on the floor Hugo.

His kicking is, and always has been, pretty dreadful. He balloons the ball up in the air the whole time which, apart from anything else, gives the opposition defenders extra time to get into position to deal with it. As you say, he even manages to do this with short passes out to the wingbacks which puts them immediately under pressure. Almiron's goal for NUFC is a good illustration where Sessegnon can't deal with a crap pass from Lloris which leads straight to their goal.

Shame for him, really hoped we could see him lifting a pot this season, hopefully he comes back before the end of season in the business end, for all his faults he's still a good shot stopper but Forster is a monster with his feet and might give us more when we want to counter quickly with the arrowed kicks ala Allison and Ederson because Hugos are always scooped.

Glad Forster is our back up and not Gollini or Hart too.

At least this has happened in the season where we’ve arguably got our best back up GK of the last 10 years

Are we allowed to get an emergency loan keeper as well?

Never quite sure about those rules.

If this had happened at any time in the last 10-12 years I'd be worried. Forster is well equipped to be our No 1. Maybe a bit down on the shot stopping but better on crosses and with his feet, and if we're honest these are the triggers for a lot of the most avoidable goals we've conceded this season.

Still hoping for a swift recovery for Hugo nonetheless.

Not so sure tbh

I agree. I see some on Twitter celebrating that Forster will be better than Hugo for the next 6-8 weeks.

I'm all for the next man up mindset and think he's a decent GK, but it's a tough position for any player to come in with little to no game time in the year.

I also don't think he improves us with his kicking ability.

At no point since the World Cup would I have been sad to see Forster replace Lloris in the starting XI. He's been utterly, utterly woeful.

Spare me the dough-eyed nonsense about service to the club - that isn't in question. But his form has been diabolical.

Forster in goal with Harry as captain for two months?

Fine by me.

Might be. I remember someone doing it and him throwing it into his own net v Arsenal one year we were battling for top 4 with them. Name escapes me.

Not sure, but we shouldn't be allowed to really as Austin and Whiteman aren't youth team players anymore, leaving us with 3 uninjured keepers on our books.
