I'm 6'7, my 15 year old is already 6'6 mate - ridiculous!
Okay so what is it with kids being so big these days?I’m 5’ 10’ and my 13 year old is about an inch taller than me!
I remember when I was at school back in the 80’s and there was one kid in my year who was about 6’, the rest of us all ranged between 5’ nothing to about 5’ 9’.
Last week when my lad was playing rugby there wasn’t a kids in the oppo’s ranks who wasn’t under 5’ 9” and the majority of them were 6’ plus!
Are the kids evolving?!🤣

How did he do at corners today, did Brighton target him, did we make any changes in our approach to protecting him more?

Maddison was tasked with being in between Vicario and the Brighton player, at least initially.
To add to this, the ref called the foul for the first one. Them let them blatantly foul Vic more than Everton even for the remaining 5 corners.

Madders did well but they ended up just getting another player to run at Vic and push him into his own goal while the ball was nowhere near. Blatant

We dealt with it well though. Maddison isn't going to offer much defensively although not sure he has the physical edge for it. Still think Kulusevski would be better for the job.

What annoys me most is the arbitrary way refs seem to be applying this new-found lenience with fouling goalies, and the way it's been introduced midway through the season with no fanfare.

If they said in the summer, "this season you're allowed to impede goalies", I would have disagreed with the approach but at least all teams would be in the same boat, and you'd hope the rule would be applied consistently.

Neither of those happened, with the result that opponents are apparently allowed to foul Vicario with impunity while other keepers get the same incidents decided in their favour.

For me the black and white of it is if a player is impeding another player with no
Intention of trying to win the ball then it is a foul.
This is exactly what has happened to vic and some other keepers and the goal has been allowed.

yet Allison was “fouled” and the gaol
Disallowed against city.

as lots have said the biggest issue is the game By game inconsistency

The ref seemed to call a push on Vic the first corner they got this game, seemed like it helped stop it a bit. Also Maddison helping was good

He did. And then let the rest of the instances go. This was the next corner

What is buonanotte doing if not fouling vic

Don't worry, Dermot Gallagher will be along on ref watch tomorrow to tell us its not a foul because all hes doing is pushing Vicario out of play, so it can't be a foul if he's off the pitch.

Or something stupid like that.

Unless it's far less force against allison

No way Vicario ends up a metre behind his own goal line unless he's been pushed there. That incident is as blatant as Harrison shoving Vicario into the net when the ball is in flight. Neither player has the slightest intention of going for the ball. No idea what Refs are thinking letting it go. It's as obvious a foul as you're likely to see.

'just some jostling innit, ref'
