I'm not buying the 'give him time' argument. At his wage level he needed to make an impact from day one, something he's clearly failed to do.

The lesson here is that old players are very unlikely to capture the same level of performance as they did in their 20s, which should be remembered when give contract extensions to players in their late 20s.

Physically and skill wise he doesn’t seem deficient, just seems reluctant to try anything but the simple. The one time he got beyond their defence he almost made a goal, and his free kick was lovely. But he seems to be getting the ball and staying neat when what he needs to do is stand his authority on proceedings.

Hope it comes, but seems a way off right now. Needs to rocket one in and get some confidence.

The way he plays currently looks like a kid stepping up from the academy (aside from the freekick) playing safe not wanting misplace a pass or make a mistake, fuck sake just take the game by the scruff like Kane and Sonny.

The one big thing he offers us right now is being able to take free kicks. Nobody else in our entire squad knows how to score them.

No mate this is how he played for Real also, this is why I’m saying he’s finished

When he signed, I like everyone of you was ecstatic. Now, I can't help but feel disappointed. He still has the touch and control but seems to lack that one bit of inspiration that won us so many matches, he blends into normal. I'm not sure where he fits in, is he happy long term to be dragged off in a Europa League game?

I know he says playing on the right is his favorite position. It just doesn’t look like he fits there as an inverted winger unless he is going to the shackles off and strike some from distance.

Struck the free kick well
