Today Bale wad also winning the ball outside his own area, while his second goal doesn’t happen without him battling to win a ball that looked like being turned over.

A month ago I was all for sending him back. How wrong I was. He genuinely looks like a top top player again. I actually have some hope that we might do something in the Prem and we might just do City in the final. Who knows maybe in the EL too.

Really really hoping he plays the derby, but got an annoying feeling Jose will opt for Moura or Bergwijn for the added defensive cover (If aurier isn't back)

At the moment its each game as it comes and Jose has managed him well so let's see what happens....

Watching the highlights back and the quality of Bale's contributions tonight is exciting me. The first touch is back. I don't remember him getting tackled. I remember before Xmas thinking he was done as an RW as he couldn't beat his man. It clearly was just fitness and confidence.

What I've seen in the last two home games is a different Bale but still a top class one. In fact his improved movement in the box may actually end up being more valuable to us these days than that explosive pace he had.

All that chat about him not completing 90 mins anymore feels a moot point to me. If he's putting in a match winning shift for 60-70 mins that's plenty fine by me. That's what squads and subs are for. We just need to manage him carefully and the rewards will be there.

In fact the last two games Gareth has got us in the lead and then Lamela has come on and helped the team close the game out well. It's worked nicely.

It's quite symbolic.

Lamela was the last one through the door when Bale left. Now they are revolving doors on the pitch.

Obviously Kane's goal is the stand out but I can't overstate how important it is that you have three players of incredible quality getting into the penalty area.

It's an absolute nightmare for defenders and will have them quaking in their boots.

Teams have been able to double up on Kane and block of Son's runs but if you've got Lucas beating players and Ndombele breaking the lines who is gunna pick up the runs of Bale, Kane and Son?

With Bale and Kane bursting into the penalty area it just causes panic and havoc for defenders.

What makes it worse is when Kane or Bale drop deep and start to spread play because defences have to constantly adjust to who they pick up.

We need to keep up this energy and put all the questions to the opposition. We know how good we can be, it's up to the opposition to find ways to deal with them rather than us worry about what they can do.

I knew he was back after that beautiful assist for Kane vs Burnley. I was clapping for the pass alone. He makes football look easy, just look at those highlights.

He’s basically the perfect winger right now from a production standpoint. Goals, assists, chances created, defensive contribution. Incredible.

I think it's the little things that rub off as well, he rarely stands still after passing/crossing, he knows when to stand still and gets himself space.
His cross field passes to Son/Reggie are nearly always into feet or just in front so they can take it first time.
I don't think it can be underestimated how much Reggie brings to the team either, I don't think it's a coincidence our form fell off a cliff without him.

It's so fun to see Bale playing great for Spurs again.

Have to agree. I thought he was past it and we wasted money on loan fees and wages. happy to have been wrong.

But he is exactly what we were missing. We have a dynamic front 3 now and I shudder to think where we'd be now if he was in form from the get go. We need to rest Son a bit so he can get back into the groove of things.

Im believing in a top 4 finish again purely as a result of what he can add to our front line.

In reference to Slim Shady: Can the real Bale please stand up.

This is much better from Bale, pressures taken off Son and Kane to come up with answers, with Reguillon bombing down the left (what a player) we now look extremely dangerous on the attack.

Credit to Mourinho for making adjustments {noticed the change against Everton in the FA Cup defeat} tactically the low block counter can work in certain moment but no way should that be our main method of play, we have players who are better attacking.

Arsenal fans must be feeling really nervy about the NLD with a fired up Bale and Kane. It could actually be a hammering as they got a really bad defence.

Agree with Souness about his interview after the match, he's only 31 and personally I hope he has many years at the top level left.

Surely training with Ronaldo for so long with have shown him that

I think they may be in for a shock. All the Arsenal fans online seem to think that we're pretty much the same as them re. results, but they had a terrible start and that's why they're in the position that they're in. They're actually looking forward to the NLD.

That said, it's still a derby so it'll be an incredibly tough game. It's a good job we seem to be hitting a bit of form finally and the DZ match should (hopefully) also help with confidence.

With modern sports science, etc, there's no reason why he can't perform at a high level for the next 3 or 4 seasons.
