honestly think Kane is gone whether we push for the likes of Bale or not. in the end, the only thing I can see making him want to stay is a great season with silverware involved. he's 27 and hasn't had any other challenges. doesn't strike me as a player that will do wonders late in his career. it's very likely he'll push for a change if we completely fluff this season whether it is with Bale or not.

Levy deserves a lot of the flak he gets fur frugality, but I don’t think there’s evidence of him selling players and not reinvesting. Reinvesting poorly maybe, but I think generally when he’s sold a player it’s gone back into the team.

I maybe in the process of handing in my BSoDL membership card but this is 100% correct. ENIC maybe tight investing their own funds, but I haven't heard of them taking money out of the club to line their own pockets. There big payday comes when they sell up and to get that big pay day they need to re-invest the money the club generates.

30 is still pretty optimistic imo. I’ll be surprised, but not shocked, if he gets plays more than 15 league games. Having said that all we would need is for him to score a bicycle kick in the Europa league final and all would be good.

Why is 30 games optimistic? He has not been left out at RM due to injury, it's political. He would have not trouble playing 30 games for us.

Quite simply if we don't push on massively HK is gone next Sumner. For me it's take a calculated risk now on Bale and a decent CF or that will be the reality.

Every transfer has an element of risk, and the time is running out on getting this one done. Bale preference is us, but they are speaking now to two other teams as well. The financial position is pretty much set and not likely to change regardless of what else happens, so a decision from DL is all that is required.
Nice one Trix and doesn't surprise me one bit about HK and if we don't step our game up tbh I would want him to go next summer as he's far too good to not win anything during his career and he deserves better, he's the ultimate professional but he'll be 28 next summer and if we are still playing this awful football with a mid table squad 100% he should ask to leave and rightly so.

Bale in would be a huge statement and a striker of course, if we don't make a move like that then we will be no where near top 6 never mind top 4.

The documentary has given me zero faith in Levy or Jose, they're both exactly as I thought they were, I think Levy is massively holding the club back on the football side by being far too involved and Jose is past it and the players will hate playing this style of football and they will get frustrated not just with his constant criticism but also I think he's actually a bit weird or that's how he came across to me.

Huge next week or so.

Knowing Levy he will be clinging to his tried and tested...... Player wants us, club need to get rid so I'll hold out till the death to squeeze a few sheckles out of the deal.

Won't work with this one from what I hear because both Bale camp and Madrid have already moved as far as they are willing to.

Things do change so pinch of salt and all that, but considering Levy's love of a bargain deal, he won't get a player of Bales profile for this price any time soon.

Guess this is what we have to pin our hopes on. Get your Klinsmann moment Levy.

I totally understand Kane leaving, infact if Levy fucks about again I would encourage him to leave for everyone’s benefit.

But I can’t take the “Kane hasn’t had opportunities to win things here”

Harry has been one of the biggest chockers of all in our biggest games, bar a few Arsenal or Chelsea games.

Completely agree mate, when I talk about success I mean us as a club. Its something that always annoys me when people say Kane needs to leave to win trophies, as if he is Zaha at Palace.

He has been in 2 title races, 2 finals and semi finals where we have failed to cross the line. He is just as accountable for us not getting across the line as the rest of the team.

If Bale proves the difference between winning the EL or not (which he very well might), which might potentially have knock-on effects on whether we can keep our best player of the decade, then honestly the odd 100k difference in wages shouldn't matter.

If it weren't for Bale's history here we wouldn't stand a chance of getting a player of his pedigree. Just fucking get it done, we had the 6th highest revenue in football last season ffs.

I really don't understand the downside to this deal?

- A £15.6m annual investment for a world class talent and the only player of this level we can attract (Perhaps a bit more £££)

- Fans back on side

- Demonstrating to manager & team we are still looking to progress and make a top 4 challenge.

For our owners it's a relatively small investment and one where they could offer a loan the club if sh1t hit the fan on revenues.

If Levy doesn't pull the trigger and we miss out on a decent ST option and finish 8-10 he is done for with the fanbase.

Bring him home egg head!!!

speaking of Eggs. Levy reminds me of Dr Robotnik in the way he thinks he’s a genius By signing these great players who turn out to be duds just like Robotniks inventions. :-/

How fitting that the documentary is called All Or Nothing. That's pretty much where we are now. Levy showed ambition to bring in Mourinho but he is a manager who made success with world class talent. Will he deliver the tools for Jose to succeed.

Truly believe that Levy has forgotten that the point of transfers is to actually improve your squad rather than just get the best deals in the market.

His ego requires him to get the beating of his opponents (other clubs) but far too often now we're just losing out to players who would clearly improve us.

The downside is it costs money
