Surely MP doesn’t take the job until the end of the season. He’ll want a proper contract
Yes, IMHO it would be foolish to approach Poch with such an offer. Its disrespectful and likely to lead to him saying thanks but no thanks.

Whats the likelihood we then return to the same situation where we struggle to attract anyone decent and end up with another desperate Nuno situation.

Im tired of pandering to the players. Its never worked. We shouldn't be considering how the players react to a managers appointment, of they dont put in the desired effort they should be shown the door

I am not sure about that as Porro looks very weak defensively at the moment but without the same level of physical quality to try to balance that out.
Really? I think Porro is much more physical than Spence at this stage. Porro is not as tall, but he looks like he has a thicker, more muscular, upper body.

If it was my call, I would punt one more season - send Spence on loan to a PL club for a year before making a decision on a long-term fit.

That could change, but for now, I see Porro as a better attacking threat, and a better defensive player than Spence - particularly for any manager who intends to use attacking FBs.

While Conte is still here very little chance of seeing Spence in a Spurs shirt so it's all conjecture,,he's a long way to go but nice to actually see he is alive & well,so let's all hope Porro is our next Kyle walker,be a shame if Conte's parting gift was for us to spunk 40 mill away.

I think the concept of ' showing them the door' is well and truly old hat now, unless , of course, they want the door themselves. Not really sure why the players would generally be anti a Poch return anyway.

Thing is we are going to be exactly the same in the LWB position with 3 bodies for one spot, albeit Perisic's age is a massive factor. We've bought for 3 at the back and even Spence is better suited to that role there has been no forethought whatsoever. I posted this back of house this morning and wasn't going to post this in the main forum but I've had the all clear to do so from my guy so here it comes.

In reply to me asking "Any news after the Wolves game?" I got this back.......

Bit of a mess right now. Of those with any influence one wants Conte gone right now, another pointing out the PR of getting rid of a manager who has just had surgery would be catastrophic, and yet he still has one or two fighting his corner. FP will be relieved of duties if he fails to overturn his Italian ban. There is no plan of how or who replaces either of them in place, despite everyone knowing it's very likely they both go. If we fail to beat Milan it's my opinion he is gone.

Talk of giving it to Mauricio on an interim basis to see how the players react and then full time in the Summer if it works. It really is a bit of a joke considering the powers that be have felt this would all come to pass prior to the January window. How the club haven't got a continuity plan in place is baffling and infuriating in equal measure. It's extremely amateur, and from a professional point of view to repeat what happened just a couple of years ago is quite frankly laughable.

This was probably better off going in a more suited thread but as I was in reply about our foreward planning, or lack there of, I've stuck it here.
We have to get them out!!

He could only sue us for wrongful termination if he was found innocent of his charge. As Trix stated, if he his ban holds he will be released.
Thats not how it works under English employment law. Also "wrongful termination" isn't a thing here.

The lack of a succession plan on the football side is absolutely outrageous and negligent.

Come the summer we'll have 6 wing backs and only one of them can play full back 😂
Two of them , not that it makes it any better 😂

I'd keep Udogie and Reguillon, see if Perisic wants a free to Italy and loan Sess in one last attempt to get his career going.

On the right Emerson will be really good in a 4 so I guess we get Spence a prem loan if we can.

Don't know why, but it was their captain and best player Traore that came on back from the injury they loaned Spence for.
So guess that could be it
I thought he wasn't supposed to be back for ages. If so thats likely the end of Spence getting many starts, not good if so.

Snippet on Spence in Alasdair Gold’s loan round up:

Djed Spence and Joe Rodon (Rennes)

It was not the best of weekends for Tottenham's two loan players at Rennes as the Ligue 1 side were held to a 0-0 draw at struggling Auxerre.

Djed Spence started the game but just 18 minutes in, the young wing-back lost the ball to Gaetan Perrin in the Rennes half and the Auxerre man picked out a cross for Gauthier Hein, whose volley crashed against the bar.

The 22-year-old clearly was not playing at his maximum and it was because he was unwell, needing to come off at the break as he struggled.

While Spence only got 45 minutes to his name, Joe Rodon got none as an unused substitute for the fourth Ligue 1 game in a row.
