Some of his highlights from last season's FA Cup.. really good stuff. He plays with such confidence for his age, and skill to back it up.

As much as I love Spence in this clip….I hate that random Arsenal kit even more…

And then stick it in the same place as the ‘next manager thread’ from last summer. That one still gives me nightmares…
Most of it was. The way it turned on a dime when we realized we were getting Conte was gold.

That bit of defending when he was in the RB position, stepped out to the edge of the box and intercepted the pass and then dribbled past the half way line and got a foul was real top class defending.

He really does look the business. Surprisingly I was more impressed with his defending in that video than his attacking.

I’ve been busy all day, just got in hoping to see news of Spence being confirmed. Not happened. Just 10 more ‘here we go!’s from Romano and lots more bad puns.

So I’m gonna pour myself a nice spiced rum and coke, Djed Mans Finger is my current fave. ? ?

I’m so sorry, I’ve been out in the sun all day, it’s had an effect on me.

Not sure if it's been mentioned in here, but 'Djed' is the Egyptian symbol for stability. Hopefully, his arrival can bring even more stability to our team.

It's definitely a gamble. But he definitely has all the attributes to be a top wing-back. I suspect how well he does will be purely down to mentality.

Moving back to London on wages that are likely much higher than he's ever earned could be detrimental. Similarly to Tanguy, his mentality has been questioned by former coaches. Let's hope he shows much more desire than Ndombele, or I'm sure Conte will have no problem bombing him out at the first opportunity.
Two different people who have no known similar traits but somehow you feel the need to compare them.

It's the second clip against Arsenal that impresses me the most.
Sat in his correct position in the line, sees where the danger is, and steps out to snuff it out.
Shows a level of defensive awareness/willingness to take responsibility rarely seen at that age and confirms to me he can actually defend.
he demonstrated that in the third clip too. what was especially noticeable was how balanced his body position was when there was a change of direction and then the burst of speed at the end of the sequence. If he can play more consistently then he could into someone special. as other's noted, his mentality will be everything. AC and FP are really doing a phenomenal job filling in our weak spots.

Heard a rumour he was injured and out until October? Surely that can’t be right ??‍♂️

Purely opinion but if Emerson stays I think he only gets better another season under conte and he trusts him . He’s very young still
He also give us a far better option away from home against top teams if we’re playing on the counter. Far more solid defensively than the others.

Someone told me Ally gold said so moments ago . Like I say news to me just saw it in a group chat
I don’t think Ali gold has mentioned as far as I remember, am sure it would have been mentioned a lot more also if it was.

He's an actual wingback. Not a conversion etc and with obvious potential. Very interested to see how quickly Conte can bring him along.

Totally. There are clearly areas of his game to improve, but just having a skilful, rapid, athletic presence on the right will give us an extra dimension IMO.

We just didn’t really have that last year. And you have Perisic on the left, with an ever improving Sessegnon.

Can’t think I’ve been this optimistic about a season ever…which normally spells doom, but it feels different here

Yeah, I think his mentality is key.
However the mentality issue isn't down to effort judging by those clips so hopefully any arrogance issues will be tempered under the influence of Conte, Kane, Lloris etc.
