We're delighted to announce a new 5 year contract for Davinson Sanchez
I know this is a joke, but I really worry about this. I'm sure there are some at the club who think with a short extension we could keep his value up and sell him next summer. I just hope either no one with power listens or Dav turns down anything.

The fact we’ve tried to sell him and failed for the 2 summers I don’t think there is, plus I highly doubt he’d want to sign anyway.

He will for sure get booed next time he comes on, I hate that but he will.

This is our third choice centre back.
Have I missed something ? Last match for Dav he was excellent..he's had a couple MoM performances since July. He's been cheered rather...why would he be booed ?

For the pen 'miss' ? It wasn't a miss, it was a decent attempt, ball low in the corner, good save imo.

Be surprised if anyone boos him, but we'll see eh.

Seriously hope you're wrong. He is a confidence player and his pace is better suited to the new system than any of the other potential backups. We will need him and need to support him.

Would’ve happy taken Bella kotchap on loan and accepted psvs offer. Instead they’ve signed him and we are stuck with Dave

cant believe we valued him over £10m and as a result rejected reasonable offers, which subsequently lead to us supposedly not being able to bring xtra players in.
absolute madness

Unreal that this guy is still at the club. 6 years since he came and for the last 4 years serving as backup, as we found out he's not good enough.
No other club would allow this to happen. But we are governed by Levy's cursed spreadsheets - football be damned...

No other club. Until recently Man U still had Eric Bailley and Phil Jones on their books.

We should be moving him on but he clubs have been taking the piss with their offers. The guy is a full international in the prime of his career. He has had great games in the prem and champions league. He’s worth more than £5m ffs

sadly the European clubs would keep exploiting this as if they don't have any cash, unless we sell to Saudi clubs

taking Bella kotchap on loan and selling sanchez to psv would of been too smart a move for levy, btw Bella kotchap will be a fine player and ideal for Anges system

At least he fits the system, Dier is the one who shouldn’t ever be in the squad.
He is shit

Does not fit any system

Positional poor, can't pass, shank clearances all over the place, nervous as a kitten on the ball, destabilise the entire defence, falling over for no reason, face planting after being done by a kippper

Arsenal got rid of Holding for £4m,we should have done the same but the bald git is never going to do that and buy his replacement for over £10m

I called him out as useless years ago, there are many who think he is the next Ledley King, look at his raw attributes lol

Wonder they still think the same

He's looked good under Ange. If he was a new signing no one would be slamming him like they are.

Played very well against Brentford in the first game, was solid in pre season.

More than adequate for a back up for now.

He might be ok as now he'll be alongside either Romero or VdV rather than Dier. Although I worry about him on the left side. It's not far off what we had under Poch but Alderweireld and Vertonghen were very established and Sanchez was the young prospect. Now he's the more senior player and our starters are still pretty young. I don't mind him as a back up for now. We could have really done with getting an experienced leader. A type of Gallas, Naybet, Woodgate signing for the short term. Time for Romero to step up as the leader considering he's sub captain now. He needs to be the calming influence at the back so rain in the heated tackles. He's started the season well on that side of things.
