Not being funny but I swear he's on a mission to stop us winning anything. He has no business taking a penalty. I don't even want to hear praise for stepping up. I can't believe he's taken one of all people. If Fulham picked who they would want to step up he would be the one.

I can't stand him as a footballer. Worst defender we own. He is the most nervous looking player I have ever watched. How the hell did he end up taking a bloody penalty, he can't even pass!

I’m sick of this guy costing us winnable games year after year. Yes he works hard, yes he’s a nice guy, yes he has attributes on paper you want in a player. But fuck me he’s a total liability every time we play him. Please please can we finally get rid

Get him out yesterday. Single-handedly knocks us out of one cup every year. Absolute liability - and I don't say that lightly.
In all fairness I think the bigger question is why the fuck did Ange have Sanchez down as third penalty taker or maybe why the fuck did nobody else step up to the plate instead of leaving it to a defender to take a pen

It’s crazy how he can let us down in huge cup games year after year like clockwork, but after one half decent performance we get the whole “we should keep him” “he fits the system” comments. He doesn’t fit any system that has the ambitions of a top 4 club. Thanks for your service but get rid ASAP.

He should have gone years ago. Gets far too many chances.

Maybe fair about the penalty, but that doesn't explain the 90 minutes of genuine calamity that came before the shootout.

I’m not sure. He’s stepped up in some gallant but vain attempt to show the fans what he’s really made of and nobody’s told him it’s a bad idea.

I think the bolded bit may be right. And that's a poor reflection (if so) on those players who didn't have the balls to say 'no that's not a good idea, I'll take one'

As usual, I just feel terribly for the bloke, and he needs to move on for his own sake as much as anyone's.

Come on he has to show some intelligence himself here. No player tells another he's not good enough. Not even the manager can do that to his player. This is just purely about a player with heart over brains. This is Sanchez all over. He will always give everything but he doesn't have the intelligence to go with it. He knows full well he's not good enough to take a penalty. People can criticise those who don't step up but it's also important to only step up if you have it in you to score. He obviously wanted to prove himself to the fans tonight but its just such poor judgement.

Is in his face when you saw before taking the penalty you knew he will miss. Like Sess, they never give you the belief they will succeed. Just leave for the well being of everyone.. This is not the first time he lost us games and it won't be the last if he stays..

Yeah, seems like that was his kick of the ball for the club. Shame that he was never able to develop into a more consistent and reliable defender. Best of luck to him wherever he ends up and for his sake, I hope he avoids the cesspool that is social media for the next couple days.

Absolutely. I’m not his biggest fan but unlike others he had the balls to take one.
I agree with this 100% on top of the fact knowing how this is make or break for him with the supporters. Look we are all frustrated but how have none of our other attackers or midfielders been like yeah I got it. At least he had the cojones to take it. He died on the sword and honestly that's all I can ask of him.

The fuck is up with some of you? Man missed a penalty. It happens. It shows absolutely nothing about his character, because it's a complete coin flip.

Come on. Criticize him for his mistakes during the game if you want, but not for that penalty. It's not like he was alone in making the decision he should take one.

His penalty was also better than four of Fulham's...

Said much more eloquently than me. 👍😊
