We would probably have to pay him off even if he would find a club in January (although a somewhat smaller amount), as the clubs that may be interested probably wont be able to afford his current wages anyway.

Looks like Rose will stay around till end of the season

Rose demanding to be paid off to leave
Doubt it. my opinion is that we will pay his contract up. But not allow him to join another team this season.

If he doesn't move on January that is, and let's be honest no half decent club is going to remotely look at him now, just like no one was interested in to he summer.

Watford would have taken him on loan, but that was it. His one and only offer.

Probably the last money he’ll earn from football so why not hang out for full payment of his contract. Put him out to graze with his full contract payment and good luck to him finding a new club next season as a free agent who hasn’t had any serious football for a full season and hasn’t been a serious footballer for over two seasons.

If he’s not taking a penny less than the value of his contract then e should just stick him on garden leave for the remainder. We won’t save any money but at least he’ll be away from the training ground. If we just pay him off in fill he gets to have his cake and eat it.

Like the boy.
Pay him what he's owed.
Do the right thing you miserable bastards.
What would it cost us?
I expect its six of one
and half a dozen of the other
It usually is.
He has problems, don't add to them.
Not that any of us know the inside story.

We have paid
Him what he’s owed
Despite him acting
Like a toad
And not performing
In many years
Once he’s gone
I’ll shed no tears

It does feel like once he hit some bad times, games wise and a slump in his form he couldn't accept that maybe he needs to improve or just things were not working out and he needed to move on, which happens. Some players just deal with it, move on and play for another club and looking to play but if he is not going anywhere and is just sticking out for the money then my assumption is maybe he has had enough of football.

It's a pity as he was great at points and had a big fanbase and i feel that support is slowly going now with how he has acted in the last couple of years.

All things considered he was great for about 3 seasons if that he then got linked to a move to United the same time walker left us and he never really seemed to recover from that?

kind of feel maybe he wasn’t really ever that good a player he maybe just got by in our peak years because of the style of team we had?
Or poch is crazy fitness regime actually helped him as more I have seen Danny recently he seems to be getting chubbier and he was a stocky lad before poch too!

but none the less it’s a shame to see it end this way but his behavior and ours hasn’t been great and he damaged it further by running his mouth a lot even if it was for sometimes the good of the club but whatever happens when he leaves we need him to sign a gagging order or something as he will be a man on a mission to speak his mind.

I would to see Leeds take him or something just for Danny personally but sadly he just is not as good as he thinks he is or wants to be.

It’s a shame all round really he could have really made himself a legend here got himself a testimonial and got his head down and left on good terms but sadly he’s let his passion and fire burn and ended up alienating himself.

it’s probably cost him another contract elsewhere and playing time but I guess it’s up to Danny

Amazed no one has made a serious move for him. Perhaps his pay demands and his outspokenness have come back to bite him on the arse ? No doubt seeing out his contract will back fire on him. Who will want to pay him a big contract when he has had a year out of the game ?

Because he isn't good enough.

I think if he said to Levy - tear my contract up today and we’re quits (and he’d be a free agent) Levy would happily do that. But if he expects us to pay him his contract up in full (i.e £2M+) to enable him to go and sign a new contract somewhere else he’s got a reality check coming up. If he finds another club who will pay his salary I suspect Levy would accept a modest loan fee. There is a deal to be done, but Rose is very much stuck unless Levy is happy to deal, and we all know who such a deal would have to favour.

I think it is common knowledge that his level has dropped significantly from 2.5 years ago, and that he is not an elite player anymore. If Harry Redknapp was still a manager he’d find a way to get a useful 18 months from him at a Championship club, but not sure Danny sees himself as anything but a CL player still which is part of the problem.

Phone up Jermaine Defoe
Ask him how he staid in the game
Ask Levy to pay all expenses for following Defoe's routine as a compromise
Get back on the market in January
Let bygones be bygones

In his attempt to" stick it up Levy " he has lost his common sense . Watford wanted to sign him last season but his ego got in the way as he saw himself as entitled to a " move to a top club " . He made the comment at the start of the season that " he only wanted to play football "
and yet again turned down Watford in a loan move my question is Why ? if he " only wanted to play "
His insulting comment to the club and the players the club signed " I have to google the players we sign " was unforgivable .
In his early years he was either a left back or a left winger and in truth not very good at either . After a time he played as a wing back and it suited him and the team but this success was for about two years as along the way he lost his focus and has been poor .
In 13 years he has played 194 games roughly 14 games a season that says it all really because in my honest opinion in that time he has had two brilliant years the rest has been mediocre to poor . He has seen Walker go on a big money move to City the jealosy he had over Walkers windfall led him to say " pay me what I am worth " was born out of frustration .
It has made him feel that he has been undervalued and underpaid whereas if he had tried his best and played his best he would have got a new contract with an increase in income . But he chose to play up and talk up its the wrong move with Levy .
It must be said if a player has deserved more money Levy has come up with the goods .
So for me for Rose read Jealous / petulant / stubborn / and overated.

So much for the Tottenham 'family'
if we can't handle the odd member
that under pressure steps out of line.

All this should have been
headed off at the pass
before it got out of hand
Perhaps all parties have learned a lesson.
