It's sad really how the End game is being played out with Danny Rose who's been a fearless servant for our club.
In an ideal world Leeds come in for him and he excepts but I feel Rose is pretty pissed off and will see out his contract, so to leave on a free.
He is still a decent aggressive left back and personally wish him the best.

After watching Leeds last night I can see why they wouldn’t want him or need him. Plus he’d fall out with Bielsa at a drop of a hat.

I don’t think it’s strictly an attitude/ reputation thing, I just can’t see where he’s going to be first choice, and I doubt he’d go sheer to be a reserve.

Danny deserve respect for the football side he has given us, yes he has petered off and spoke externally when should have kept it internal but he is honest and doesnt hold back, sometimes to his detriment but he is an honest bloke however not media savvy. I appreciate on footballing terms what he has done for the club and he deserves respect. I hope he gets a decent move, i know its all gone wrong here at spurs for him in the last 18 months, but wish him well and hopefully he gets back on track, if he can he still has 2/3 decent years left in him.

Unfortunately Rose has caused a lot of this. The PR associated and his sub standard performances over the last couple of years have gone against him.

I think he will be here until the end of his contract and will get a simple announcement on the website of 'Danny's contract has completed, we thank him for his service and wish him well for the future '

Shame as his time at the club will always be tainted.

Not in the Prem. Maybe in Italy, where he'd tear through a slower league. But, I'm personally hoping a northern team below the Prem offers him a retirement route and that we're not too shitty over a fee.

For my money he has been a very significant player, just perhaps not as quite significant as he might have hoped or believed. It started under Poch, so this can't be laid at Jose's feet.

That’s an attitude thing though. He expects to walk into sides. He has always expected that with us. However he hasn’t backed it up in years, is clearly out of shape and just can’t wait to air the dirty laundry. He has made his bed basically.

Oh I fully agree his attitude sticks, and there’s been evidence of that since he first started playing regularly though back then it could be attributed to the impetuousness of youth. I’m more making the point that if he was actually good enough, there’d be at least one club willing to take the chance.

I just don’t think he’s been as good for us as others seem to. Best left back in the league from august 2015 to December 2016? Absolutely. But before and after that, bar decent spells in the second halves of 14/15 and 18/19, he’s mostly ranged from poor to ok in my opinion.

I keep hearing ‘great servant’ and I just don’t buy it. Do you know who I think of a great servant? The guy who has got nothing but flak from our fan base (sometimes deserved, often over the top, including from me) but pushed through the agony of his brother being murdered to complete our final few matches last season.

no epl club will want him with his wages (covid means they are all on the verge of bankruptcy) and his attitude

Doubt wages are an issue - given Spurs alternative looks to be to pay out 100% of his wages to terminate his contract after the window closes, no doubt we are offering Danny for zero fee and a wage subsidy. Yet sounds like no one wants him despite that.

He's going to still be here after tomorrow isn't he? Unless he goes on loan or perm to a Championship club, which I cannot see.

I don’t disagree, if he was a world beater like he believes he is there would be a queue

I doubt that is too big a factor as you can always lower your demands. Can’t make the other stuff go away though. It’s funny how Newcastle had him for a few months and are now steering well clear
Curious on what went on was he really that bad

This is absolutely spot on.

I also agree that Aurier has been a far better servant. I’ll leave comments on his ability out of here as it’s irrelevant to the discussion.

It wasn't even until December 2017. He suffered his knee injury in January 2017 when we drew 0-0 at Sunderland if I remember correctly. He was never the same again after that.

I meant December 16 but sadly it was too early in the day for my brain to realise 1.5 years don’t stretch that far ?
