That’s a little unfair as I’m sure many a player at the top of their game has been tapped up for bigger better clubs and tempted by the lure of higher wages and more chance of silverware. He also spoke openly about his home sickness and depression which I believe he has since addressed and opened up about, so just maybe he’s now happier in himself and happy with life at Spurs and in London.

I do feel he is a bit of a mouthpiece for Poch which is why This sort of inside info doesn’t bother me too much. I also fee that many on here cannot wait to put the boot into Danny and I find it harsh and a tad unfair.

Don't get me wrong Rose used to be one of my favorite players, I'm definitely not one of the people just "waiting to put the boot in" as you put it. Like I say, I don't begrudge him wanting to see out his contract and I fully respect the fact that he is perfectly within his rights to wait it out if he wants to. THat's not the issue for me.

I accept that other players have been tapped up before etc. but most of them don't publicly humiliate their current club and insult their teammates and bosses during the process. It's one thing to sulk and "let it be known" that you're keen for the move or whatever but it's another thing entirely to effectively insinuate that the club isn't good enough for you and slag off your teammates talking about how you've had to google them (which let's be honest is basically saying they're shit and not fit to play alongside such a big name like himself). And even now when he's decided he wants to stay, he could've either just subtly "let it be known" to journos off the record like most players do or even if he'd talked on the record he could've just said something like "I know I haven't been at my best lately but I'm determined to stay and fight for my place" or something rather than what he has done.

Seriously? At the absolute least it's unprofessional, especially given how he's publicly dragged internal affairs through the media multiple times before and been warned about it. To say he's done absolutely nothing wrong is ridiculous.

How is saying" I am going to see out my contract" unprofessional ?

Why not ? shows he wants to honour his contract. I see nothing wrong with that
By telling everyone he is going to run his contract down? Via the press? While unloading? While Spurs are currently in the shit? Yeah, nothing wrong with it at all.

Thank fuck he was one of the ones who sorted that dinner out for Poch. Should have slipped him the finger while he was at it.

Telling Levy/the club in a meeting that you intend to see out your contract is not unprofessional.

Going to a tabloid newspaper and saying it in the way he has, after having already been warned (and presumably disciplined) for mouthing off in the press on multiple previous occasions, is definitely unprofessional.

If you can't see the difference then I don't know what to tell you.

Lol Danny Rose.

He needs to worry more about upping his performance on the pitch as he’s been dreadful this season.

Also, even The Sun pointed out how he’d been mouthing off two summers ago about wanting to finish career up north, he does himself no favours...

He may run down his contract, but if he's out of the 1st X1 for a considerable period, he'll want to be gone sooner than that.

How do you know he went to a tabloid ? Did it say in an interview initiated by Danny..

Again, the point isn't that he's running his contract down, that's not what people are annoyed about. It's the way he's gone about dealing with it by yet again mouthing off about the club in the press about it.

Whether he went to the tabloid or whether they came to him isn't really that important. Even if it was just a run of the mill interview/press conference etc. then it's still wrong of him to come out with all that.

Fair play. Personally I think what he's said, and how he's said it, especially in the context of all his previous "incidents" with the press, make it at best very unprofessional, but I understand not everyone sees it that way. I guess we'll have to just agree to disagree on this one.

I’m guessing he doesn’t want to be seen as a Sol. He’s making clear he has been told there isn’t no new contract and, if that’s the case, I don’t see the issue in him seeing out his contract. Had he not publicly said there is no new contract, be would be accused of being disloyal to the club by running down his contract.

In my eyes, there is a big difference between players like Rose and Jan who have not been offered a new contract and Players like Toby and Eriksen who have rejected contract offers. It’s understandable that’s the former group would feel frustrated, disillusioned and hard done by (weighty or wrongly); hence interviews such as this. The latter group should be just keeping their head down and getting on with their job, at the very least.

He was left at home when we toured to see if he could sort his future away from the club, out ... No one thought he was going to run his contract down until he ran his mouth ...

Makes this whole interview seem petulant, then that goes hand in hand with Danny Rose.

Considering we only have been Davies I'd say he's very much needed still
He over-rotates his full backs and defence in general. Rose contributes very little going forward and is not in my opinion as good defensively as Davies, so he wont be missed.

But but but.... he was at Watford on deadline... and he’d have gone and Pochettino would be one trouble maker fewer had it not been for Scrooge mcLevy pricing him out of the move.

Maybe, just maybe, fellow Scers, it is possible that short of murder, there is no fail safe way to get a player out of the club if in fact he has no intention of leaving... ?
Revisionist BBLG - Poch gave him time off in the summer to investigate joining other clubs. All we know for sure is that when the team returned from summer tour he was still here.
