If we have Kane money coming in we should buy him and another £40m centre back. Create a rock solid defensive base to build from. We’ll find it a lot easier to replicate minimum the amount of games we won last season if we were not needing to score as many goals to win games.

Kounde and Romero sounds great. Doubt we'll get Kounde though

Between Tottenham and Romero there is already a common ground for a 5-year contract plus an option for another season.
The agreement has not yet been fully closed because there are still some details to be filed, but there will be no problems in reaching the agreement.

Reading up on Romero and everything I’ve looked at says he’s a Juventus player currently on loan at Atalanta.

So how is he Atalanta’s player to sell?

I knew this was too good to be true, we are being scammed. This looks like the footballing equivalent of hiring a car, faking the log book and then selling it to an unfortunate, gullible loser.

The only large flaw in this statement is the fact that our new DOF Paratici who has just left Juventus for us would know exactly who owns Romaro.

I would not hesitate to pay for romero. it is much harder to find hidden gem CBs than hidden gem attackers.

reinvest Kane money to build rock solid back, and then we only need a bit of luck in attacking positions, and we're fine (more than fine?).

Seria A defender of the year so he had a stronger season than Skriniar. Can't say I watched him play a lot, definitely can't dribble the ball like Kounde but supposedly has everything else. Also made it to Copa America best 11 (only Argentinian defender).

Kind of come to the conclusion that I just want the centre halves to defend this year. Be proper defenders, no nonsense. Not too concerned how great they are on the ball. Just be solid.

1000% Just shut it all down, lay the ball off to Skippy and we're good (y)

Tottenham wants to close as soon as possible also for Romero . For the central defender, the offer is between 40/45 million plus 10 million bonuses. The Argentine already has an agreement for the contract: 5 years plus option for another season. Despite some details to be fixed, the deal seems to be in the pipeline.

Sounds a more than fair enough amount for him.

Does he play left or right side centre back?

I do think we could really use a ball playing CB alongside someone like Romero if he comes in. Being able to play out of the press is a pretty crucial thing for most top teams, and it was so frustrating watching our CB repeatedly hoof the ball when they were under any kind of pressure last season (although admittedly a lot of that seemed to be a tactical decision from Jose).

Maybe considered a tad too soon for nailed on first eleven spot, but rest assured, Rodon has all the attributes you seek.

Very adept at bringing the ball out of defence and picking a pass.

Think Mourinho tactics saw him actually regress and play within himself, in turn losing some of the calmness many prior had stated he exuded when on the ball.
