I think the plan has been to leave on a free all along, same with Toby.If someone had offered a reasonable, or indeed any, fee then we would have sold.
But he's actually not that high up anyone's wanted list so despite his dreams he went nowhere - and unfortunately stopped playing and caring.
Can't blame Levy for that.
No one is going to pay a bean for him, when he has publicly stated that he wants to leave and he's in his last 12 months of his contract. Everyone knows he won't sign a new one here, and will be available for nothing in June. Levy fucked up here, as he should have been moved on 12-18 months ago, as I suspect even then, the club where made aware he ain't signing a new deal.If someone had offered a reasonable, or indeed any, fee then we would have sold.

This is why Pochettino has to go. If this was 2016, he'd have been nowhere near the side. Somewhere down the line he's lost the youthful vigour and ruthlessness that made him so great. When you start a player who wants to get away from the club you're setting the tone for the rest of the players.
Lucas should be starting ahead of him every day of the week.
Totally agree, he did it before and we improved. The togetherness overided the lack of experience/perceived quality. This is why Pochettino has to go. It's a simple solution. Anyone who doesn't want to be here or anyone we want out the door shouldn't be playing. We could play 11 18 year olds and it wouldn't have been worse than Saturday anyway. I just don't get it.
Tanganga, Skipp, KWP, Lucas, Parrott should all be given an opportunity at least until we can sort this mess out in January if MP does hang on.
Anyone close to leaving or looking for a move can be banished. We can easily go without Toby, Eriksen, Verts, Rose, Aurier, Wanyama etc. for a few months. We've got 3 other CBs plus Tanganga, Sessegnon can be backup LB, KWP and Foyth RBs and Wanyama is our worst midfield player! Even without Lo Celso we can easily cope without Eriksen. We created plenty of chances in the opening 30 against Bayern without him. Just fuck him off FFS Poch.
Yep they all want him on a free.Just perhaps nobody wanted him
Modric won't want the physical rigour of the PL at this stage of his career.Real Madrid will make a bid for Tottenham star Christian Eriksen in January and could offer Luka Modric to Spurs as part of a deal for the Dane, according to El Desmarque.

Has been speaking to Danish media again. Says it's his most difficult time at the club, dismisses the idea that players looking to leave have influenced the performances and that we have been unlucky in many games. He also comments on the rumours around his future:
- If I, as a football player, took all the rumours to me, I would be flying high (literal translation would be 'float on a cloud').. But I know that it can't all be true. 'It does not affect me what is written. But I do know that the bigger the name becomes international, the more that is written'.
So his form hasnt been affected by the transfer rumours? What has it been affected by in that case?
Some more from that interview.
It's definitely my hardest time right now in Tottenham. The first year when I came was probably a bit up and down, but since Pochettino came in 2014 it has been a success story, explains Christian Eriksen and elaborates:
- Expectations for us are at a completely different level now. We have to win every time and it's the same feeling we have as players as well.
- A lot of focus quickly becomes negative. As players, we must try to keep all the negative things completely out. But what is the cause of our results is actually difficult to answer.
- We can't close the matches, even though we are ahead. But we have also been unlucky. And that is why in many ways we have helped make things much harder for ourselves, points out Christian Eriksen.
He is in no way buying the premise that the sporting downturn is linked to the fact that several profiles were heading away this summer. This includes Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose and not least himself.
- It doesn't matter at all. Everyone is professional and in all clubs there is talk of players going away. That side of the matter has no bearing on how we have performed so far this season, he points out.
Fucking deal. Snap their hands off for that.Real Madrid will make a bid for Tottenham star Christian Eriksen in January and could offer Luka Modric to Spurs as part of a deal for the Dane, according to El Desmarque.

Winding down his contract in hopes of enticing a club that doesn't want him.So his form hasnt been affected by the transfer rumours? What has it been affected by in that case?
Eriksen seems to be getting the majority of the blame for poor form but this just isnt him its most of the first 11. He is part of a collective problem and im not sure how the manager will get them back on track.
Poch’s management. It’s clear as day that it’s because of Poch that the players are playing so poorly. Anything else is just excuses.
If eriksen was the only player playing poorly, you just couldn’t blame Poch could you. It would be obvious the issue resides with the player himself. However when every single player is playing so poorly, why are you looking at eriksen for reasons why he’s playing so poorly? The answer is obvious isn’t it, it’s the coach.
I know people are perplexed about why it’s all fallen apart under Poch but it’s staring us in the face. There’s no point denying it or looking elsewhere for reasons why.
Under a new manager I’m convinced Eriksen would raise his game again. He still has his flaws and he will still leave, but in the meantime he wouldn’t be so shit.
Still think we could get something for him in Jan, because whilst he is available on a free in June, Euro clubs can get the deal done in January under a pre-contract agreement - something other EPL clubs can't do.No one is going to pay a bean for him, when he has publicly stated that he wants to leave and he's in his last 12 months of his contract. Everyone knows he won't sign a new one here, and will be available for nothing in June. I'd say so seeing as they could sign him on a free in January if they are happy to wait until the end of the season before he joinsReal Madrid will make a bid for Tottenham star Christian Eriksen in January and could offer Luka Modric to Spurs as part of a deal for the Dane, according to El Desmarque.
