I never said he did have a choice, in fact, that was precisely my point. And in terms of the manager that sounds awfully similar to what we have just done. Yes, he wanted to go, and yes Inter are a good move given the circumstances and he may win something there. But the gulf between us isn't so great, and if anything we would be more appealing to many players. Not to him, of course. But Inter was simply the best he had on offer, and not the team he'd have originally wanted. Maybe if he knew that was the best he could do he might have not been as keen to leave from the beginning and have done things differently. We will never know for sure. But his comments, even if they carry some accuracy, seem a bit like he's reassuring himself. We will see over the next few years how accurate they turn out to be.
I think that's fair. As clubs we're not too far apart, although they're a bit further along the rebuild phase than us right now. I'd guess that if Eriksen had been at Inter for seven years and wanted a change then he'd probably see us as a good destination.

Normal service resumed. 93rd min, everyone in the box, Eriksen central with the free kick 35-40 yards out. What does he do? Puts it straight out for a goal kick :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I am not watching but these were the only two references on BBC live text after he came on.

Lazio 2-1 Inter Milan
Now Christian Eriksen loses the ball and Lazio goalscorer Sergej Milinkovic-Savic bounces the ball on his foot a couple of times! Lazio are enjoying this.

Big waste for Inter. They have a free-kick but Christian Eriksen cannot find Romelu Lukaku or Victor Moses.

I know it's a strange thing to say but maybe he has just had enough, he has played since he was 16 and always saw himself at Real.

Now that's not happening he's maybe doing a fabregas. 20m might be the best bit of business Daniel has ever done.

Or in a more realistic, rather than behaving like a jilted lover world, normal service for him resumes.
In just his second start
Cracks in the opener for Inter from outside box and then hits bar from 30 yards out.

His highlights so far in the league:

Game 1 - hits the 1st man from a free kick
Game 2 - hits the bar with a brilliant 35 yard free kick
Game 3 - Puts a 40 yard free kick in the dying minutes with his team trailing straight out of play

Good to see him maintaining his form then.

Might as well include Europa League, in which he scored their first goal in an away win yesterday.

I don't get this hostility towards him, makes us seem like Arsenal fans.

How about he was shocking for his final 18 months?

How about the 60 months before that, when he was one of our best players? Should we just forget about that, and treat him like trash? He was bad for 18 months, yes, but at least he was professional. He could have been a crybaby like some of our fans, and refused to play.

Most certainly was not shocking for 18 months, I will give you he was poor compared to his own very high standard for last 12 (name me a player that hasn't been below standard in the last 12),but in the 18 months you are talking about he scored 13 goals and assisted a further 19 (by far the most assists of anyone at club).

If we had another 11 players as shocking as him we would have won everything the last few years.

Whilst here, he had the most assists, created the most chances, scored the most free kicks, and scored the most goals from outside the box of any player in the Premier League.

Fans like you to be honest don't deserve top class players playing for their club, as you cannot appreciate them.
