The thing I find most insulting is Eriksen has the audacity to believe he’s above our level. We ARE his level. Jumped up little piss weasel.

No he doesn’t - he just wants a change and I respect that - he wants to live in another country.

I agree with you on performances but maybe he is just short of form. It can happen.

Honestly, I do think people over analyse

I could argue he was honest and respectful saying what he did - it’s a short career and I get he wants to live in Spain/Italy.

It’s a business transaction between spurs and him first and foremost.

Now if he is not putting it in or has a bad attitude, it is up to the playing management to drop him and not play him - they see him train everyday and see whatever personal going ons in his life.

Clearly his time is coming to an end but make no mistake, we have done very well out of CE. £11m and £50-£70k a week.

I still hope he stays but hopefully resolved one way or another January.

It does takes some balls to step up for another penalty, I'll give him that. Think he's missed 4 out of the 5 last I've seen him take.

When a player just doesnt give a shit anymore it's nothing to do with balls. If he did care he wouldnt step up as he has missed the last 3

My only defence for him is he could be depressed. We would all do anything to play for this club but that shouldnt cloud the fact he might be depressed at spurs

Well yes, he does. He said as much in an interview

“There aren’t many boxes that Tottenham don’t tick so if I have to move away, it would have to be a step up”

People defending Eriksen just need to stop. He’s holding the club to ransom with his contract and now with his performances. You can’t be short of form for going on a year now.

I've been saying this for a month but the reach arounds for him just continue, people would rather blame the club, blame Poch, blame Levy. The truth is he is running down his contract to go on a free, and make as much money he can out of it. Fair enough if you think that's cool, but when more and more players start doing it you will see a total change on how football works. My opinion on him hasn't changed, he is entitled to do it but I think he is a scrote for doing it.

Looking at what Ramsey has done, do you really blame him for thinking he can make 400-500 grand a week if he sticks it out for another few months and moves on a free? His head is gone. Completely. I think it’s best if we leave him out until he gets his move. Having him on the pitch is not helping.

If that's what he wanted simply tell the club that, I believe that's what Toby has done and why he seems to be still getting selected, he just said he wanted to go. Erikson talked all the horseshit of the day about only wanted a big move, would be happy to sign a new deal if that didn't happen blah, blah, blah...... Fuck off. Then because he done this the club get a slating cause they should have sold him sooner. Can you imagine if the club had announced the sale of Eriksen say a season or two ago this place would have imploded.

As for leaving him out, I believe that was the plan and is what caused the rift with Verts, a very close friend, then GLC got injured and we have no choice.

Poch has been very very weak at buying creative players. It obviously wasn't a big thing for Poch. Pace, strength,Stamina,Tackle hard,Pressing etc were all things Poch has gone for. The reason for that is the system, supposed to take the air out of the game.Squeeze the opposition so they cant breathe and gaps will appear down the field. It worked at times and it didn't work at times. It also made Eriksen our resident creative genius, the centre of our creative universe. We had no others. So he fed Kane and he fed others and the stats built up.
I was never an Eriksen fan,I thought that he didn't have that game changing mentality that he could change a game and win it with his mind and his will. I felt he took what the opposition gave him and he exploited it at times which is good but he never took the game on as one of our star players when the going was tough. He couldn't open a closed shop. When we stopped dominating teams with our power,he couldn't take it on with his creativity. The odd highlight maybe but that about it. Its now led to this huge run where he really has looked devoid of any life

The way he’s played for the last 9months he won’t be in the starting line up of any top team in Europe

I really can’t work out where Eriksen will end up next season? Barca and Madrid can’t be interested surely? The way he has played recently. Juventus have a stack of better midfielders. How is he going to get a bigger club than us?
Could he sign a new deal? Not sure I want him to now to be honest

We should have sold him at a discount in the summer when it became clear he wasn't signing a new contract. Now we have the worst of both world: a player who has downed tools and will leave on a free next year.
How do you sell someone when there are no buyers?

You guys are pathetic, I hope you realise that soon
Why are you defending him. I respect a player wants to leave, but he has clearly been 'negotiating' a new contract with us for several years, then with only a couple of TW's left til his contract runs out he announces his dream move. He screwed us. IMO, it's pure greed. A massive signing on fee. He has been advised by his agent. I don't get why people blame the club, manager, chairman, everyone except the player who's fault it is. IMO, we lost Eriksen 9-10 months ago. We're already playing without him.

Reduced price! He only has a £20-25m(?) release clause. That is absolutely pittance in today's market, especially for Eriksen.
Wait what? There's no way Eriksen has a £20m release clause. That's ridiculous, come on. He'd have left a couple of years ago if that was true, let alone this summer.

LOL, wait, my bad. Got my players mixed up! So many want to leave, hard keeping track. Carry on... But I still don't think anyone came in with a serious offer? Did they?

So say he did care - how would the penalty have been different? I mean he struck it and he saved it. I mean what else could he have done (bar scoring obviously)

I do think he is stinking the place out a bit though, his performances have been shocking to say the least

I doubt anyone here knows for sure, but I'd have thought there would be buyers at £30-40m in this market. Reports were that Levy was looking for £100m+ a year or two ago.
