Looks very much like we'll have a disinterested moody Dane until next summer.
Perhaps he'll perk up in Jan when he signs a pre contact with someone.

If you think he looked even remotely interested for large parts of the second half of last season, you're delusional. He went from being probably the single most feared set piece taker in the league to delivering consistently dross corners and free kicks (with a small handful of exceptions). I'm not saying he didn't put effort in (that's why I added "emotionally") but it's been plain to see for months that his heart isn't in Tottenham any more.

Not sure why you're comparing his situation to Hazard's, their entire team (or certainly the influential ones among them) downed tools when they wanted rid of a manager. Also Hazard stepped up in the EL final and played out of his skin, can you say the same for Eriksen in the CL final?
Erisken has always sucked at dead balls, not the last 6 months in isolation. If anything, considering how we uniquely relied on him for pretty much the entirety of the last two seasons, whilst having spurs fans tutting at the slightest miss hit pass after another game saving assist or goal, after 6 years of exemplary service... I'd be questioning my motivation n'all.

I can't imagine we'd bid for Dybala or go for Coutinho without having already agreed something for Christian, I just don't see. It's not the way we operate.

Respectfully I think this is mostly a load of bollocks.

And I think you should treat Eriksen with more respect.

But you won't. So whatevs...
You're right, I won't. I don't hate the guy and he has been brilliant for the first 80 odd percent of his time with us, I just think his time at the club has come to an end.

I want him gone for his own good, he wants a new challenge which is fair enough - he's done a lot for us and been integral in our transition to one of the big boys. If he wants to experience abroad, fine - he could've done it without running his deal down but he did the same at Ajax too. At least in that case he signed an extension to ensure they received some compensation.

Moving to United would've contradicted what he said. £40m from abroad, to Madrid or Juve, would be the best for everybody imvfhoyboc.

Agree with that yfc.

Either Juve or Real would make most sense. I think he’d smash Italy

I think this way, too.

We have to remember that while the PL window closes Thursday the European one still has weeks to go - Plenty of time for us to sell Christian if clubs have made the right noises up to this point. If we fully expect him to be gone by 1st September then I don't see why we couldn't do the deals we wanted/needed to do with the intention of cashing in on this asset at a later time.

He's been brilliant for %80 of the time but that doesn't deserve respect?

Move to Manure off as Tottenham put a higher figure on him going there then they would to a club abroad.

If I were a foreign club i'd be waiting as late as possible (their deadline, not ours) to lower the price. My worry is how this may impact moves for GLC, Dybala and the rest. We'll need to bite the bullet and get those in and hope we can shift Eriksen after our window closes. Whether that's something we're willing to do however...

Means we play with a weak hand. You don’t sell your house without knowing you are moving. RM must have offered 20-30 and got a knock back. They’ll surely push when our windows shut but happy to wait till next year when he’s free. He’s not a priority but a nice to have so takes away the urgency.

Totally - this is potentially a real problem that people don’t seem to be too concerned by

Sounds like we’ve overplayed it with his price, albeit if CE doesn’t go to Utd, Pogba doesn’t go to Real and an in theory, they might want to get him in.

If it’s impacting incomings, I’d take 45 right now, possibly less

I'm sure I'd be a lot more respectful of him if we hadn't had the apathy for large swathes of the remaining 20%.

It is no surprise why the atmosphere at Spurs games is getting worse and worse...

The risk of signing someone before the end of the TW is not that high. If CE doesn't get sold we just pay his wages till he leaves. (poss £4m) The risk of signing no-one then CE being sold is much higher.

I said earlier in the thread that if United wanted him they'd have to pay a premium like they did for AWB and Maguire. Palace and Leicester both stood firm and we're 100% right to do the same, especially as we'd be strengthening a rival. Would rather keep him here than sell to United cheap.

£70m for United and £50m to anyone in Europe, in my opinion.
