Sounds like he's definitely off either this or next summer, so time for Levy to be brave and not just replace him, but strengthen the squad too.

Another thing worth considering is that if we sell Eriksen for 50m, then let Rose and Toby leave for free next summer, we're essentially losing about 100m in transfer fees (given what we could have sold them with a few years left on contracts).

Not sure Levy will allow that.

If we only get 1 then we need to keep hold of Eriksen until later on in the European window, and get him to do the business in our opening 2 or 3 games when our injuries/suspensions should have cleared up and his replacement has had a little bit of time to bed in.

Oh I'd agree, but he didn't particularly look like the player we know he can be in the 2nd half of last season.

That half arsed penalty and shoddy performance the other day makes me wonder what player we'd witness, even if only for a month.

Shame.

We need BF and GLC if Eriksen goes. We already look like a depleted squad for the opening game, No Sonny, Alli or Eriksen, Foyth, Aurier and Davies with new signings unlikely to be picked for the Villa match, we look like we are down to the bare bones as usual.

None of the other big 6 let themselves get into this state, only Spurs.
You've listed a quarter of the squad - of course it looks depleted! Remove an equivalent 6 players from any other top 6 squad and see what they're left with.

Eriksen is fit and able to play - if Poche chooses not to play him then that's up to him, but he can hardly complain about it.

Levy will know if there is concrete offers in for eriksen. If there is he can spend the money knowing he will be sold to Europe after our window shuts. I'm sure a couple of teams would love him for £50m

Suppose If he did go to Utd we know we would only ever have one person defending a corner near the edge of the penalty area. Rest could go up field and we do them for numbers on the break

It's not really down to Levy. It's whether Eriksen wants to go to a club that puts in an offer.

I think the combination of wage demands, his age and a fee put paid to any hopes Toby had of leaving. I think he'd have happily moved if a side come in with the right money.

Our ITK last summer was full of us trying to do deals for Martial and Toby, if you think it's all lies then why even post in this section of the site? Had it not been for Woodward both would probably have happened.

I'm of the opinion that Levy is pushing the Utd move as an option (Herc and Gards have alluded to this being the case) but Eriksen may not take it. We can't afford to be letting a £50m asset go for nothing, especially one who's head seems to have gone. Levy hates Utd, but he values the club's financial situation more!

Ok so now I can’t post in this section of the forum if I don’t swallow everything’s I am fed, come on.... I’m not saying Levy won’t sell to even United, but the idea that Levy is somehow pushing Eriksen towards United is quite frankly dumb. Levy has no legs to stand on with regards Eriksen, he can’t offer him to United for anything with out looking weak.

If, and I say if, Toby was offered to United it was as part of a Martial deal. Again Toby wants a free transfer, Toby will get w free transfer, I would say Eriksen is eyeing the same prize, I mean Ramsey on £400k a week, most players have no loyalty to us, don’t kid yourself. You think that after Carrick, Berby, Keane, Modric and Bale we would have learnt that.

Neg all you like. It’s true.

Saying we sold Walker to City as a rebuttle to Utd being beneath Eriksen doesn’t wash.

City is infinitely a bigger and better club than Man U at the moment.

Eriksen would be stupid to leave this window now. If I was his agent I would be telling him to stay put and sign a precontract in January if the club he wants to move to doesnt materialise. Ramsey is on £400k a week. Eriksen can easily demand the same.

They are more successful at the moment, it all depends how you classify big? Is it income? Following? History? Or is it what a team is winning? City can barely fill their stadium week in week out, have had no Europeon success yet and their finances are dubious at best.

If Eriksen doesn't sign a new contract so be it we keep him for another season and he leaves for nothing. We can't complain because he would have served his contract. Real Madrid have been pretty sly in all this and are basically waiting until our transfer window closes.

Not at all. You can do whatever you want with your time. Nothing to do with me.

I don't think Levy would ever willingly sell a contracted player to Utd, but in a unique situation such as this, I genuinely think he'd take the cash over losing Eriksen for nothing. It's what any good custodian would do, whether we like it (I wouldn't) or not.

In fact I'm pretty sure Levy has shopped him around the whole of Europe after he seemingly rejected our contract offer.

In the absence of first hand knowledge I can only go by ITK (Herc and Gards), media (AS and telegraph) and what I think Levy would do. All points towards Levy being open to sell to Utd for me. I do hope we can get a good offer from overseas though, as I'm sure he would prioritise that.
