Yeah, this has been meat and drink for me of late, but this signing makes a lot of sense if it doesn't affect the Zaniolo deal.
Indeed, we're not getting the best of Richarlison off the left and Son is massively off form, both things literally everyone is seeing, so hopefully Don Conte has seen it too.

As many have said if it doesn't affect Zaniolo then its a smart deal that we cant lose with. But i have my suspicions that Zaniolo is falling through.
In the backing Conte context Zaniolo falling through is a blow, But I wont be devasted by signing a player who scores 1 in 2 for villareal over a player who has more yellows and red cards than goal contributions playing a similar position.

From a scouting report from last season https://totalfootballanalysis.com/a...021-22-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics and granted Sonny's one for last season might look a lot different to this season as well but if he can reignite his form we could have a real gem on our hands.

Final remarks

As we’ve shown in this analysis, Danjuma is a really complete player who can take different positional roles. If the manager wants him to stay wider, he can exercise his 1v1 ability, dribbling, and pace to create a threat from the flank. On the other hand, his good observation of the game and quick decisions also allow him to play in the central areas of the pitch, such as the “false 9” under Emery. Anyhow, he has been one of the best players in La Liga for 2021/22 and we expect more to come from the Dutchman!

Why’s the name Clint Dempsey running around my head?
Thought he was quite fun, if he’ll be used I’m all for it.

We've needed an tricky & pacy wide player to challenge Son and Danjuma could be a great fit for us. I imagine he'll win us a fair few set-pieces and more chance for us to add to our goals from those situations.

Best compliment I can give him is - he looks like a Spurs player

Good with both feet, great acceleration, would be deadly on the counter or in a stagnant final third. I think he would be a great attacking addition alongside Kane, Richarlison, and Kulusevski particularly

I remember him causing Man U all kinds of problems

Looks to have a good left and right peg. I wouldn’t be surprised if we tried him off both flanks.

Or we've decided to call it on Lucas and assume he won't be available in the 2nd half of the season.
I think we might release Lucas early if we're bringing in player(s) and have already said we're happy to see him go, I think that suits us and him and we certainly don't want to stand in his way and cause him any aggro.
Personally I can't help thinking the circus around Everton these last few days made Danjuma's choice an easy one.

This club is a joke. I know nothing about this dude but, from what I've read here, it sounds like he had one good CL run. So one good season. Is this how we close the gap on the top teams? Is this guy destined for greatness? Or is he another bargain that can do a job?

Nah, screw this.
How is the club a joke signing him when you admit you know nothing about him ?‍♂️ are you moaning for the sake of it?

This is just typical Levy.

Richarlison is ideal to cover the left and central role of the front three. Once fully fit I expected him to see a lot more game time rotating with Son who needs to be rotated. Richie is not going to be playing ahead of Kane very much and he looks pretty lost on the right. Where does this leave him, a signing Conte clearly was happy with?

And it terms of slapping Conte in the face, what better way than to drop Zaniolo for a player we don't need
I’m in the same boat, but Trix said Zaniolo still on. I think everyone on here is in the bot, if this is strictly a Lucas replacement all good, if this is the Zaniolo alternative then bring out the pitchforks

Can someone enlighten me. If Danjuma is so good with both feet, with good acceleration, half a dozen goals in the UCL…

Why are villareal entertaining loan offers?

someone with more knowledge than me can correct me if i’m wrong but i’m pretty sure they’re having major financial issues related to not qualifying for UCL, he’s on pretty big wages so they need to desperately get him off the books

Yeremie Pino (phenomenal) has taken his spot, Danjuma has basically only getting gametime in the cups and off the bench in the league. He's probably asking for the loan out, he's difficult as a personality

He's miles better than Zaniolo. Idk why people are angry lol. Zaniolo is made of glass and has 0 experience in the UCL
