If it’s just a loan there is nothing to worry about here.
Well... Weghorst >>> United loan with no option... Same with Felix at Chelsea ?? ... the only thing is... how much will we use Danjuma until the end of the season. ?

Weghorst was loaned because United need a real striker... and Felix is a top class talent... Danjuma. Good attacking player with speed and skills. But not first choice... and not Conte's choice it appears.

But a player that can take on, and beat a man. Something Conte himself stated we were lacking not too long ago.

Needed.

Provided we don't now abandon other transfer deals (which knowing Levy, we will...) this is a good move on our part. Son is shot and needs an extended break. I'm talking months not weeks. If this guy can give him that, this deal will already have been worth it. And if it works... Villareal owe us for Foyth and Lo Celso. Should work out well.

Well it would be nice to get some goals from the left too because Son's doing feck all atm.

People saying this loan has no planning, #levy special etc.. the club didn't plan for Moura's long term injury, the club didn't plan for Son's complete loss of form, January has always been a window where clubs are reactive to situation/injury, looks very much like it's reactive because we need to be exactly that.
If that’s the case then why didn’t we go for him at the start of the transfer window, if there is any planning on getting a lwf then surely we wouldn’t wait until he practically signed for Everton. We didn’t just find out about Lucas’s injury or Son’s loss of form yesterday.

Our bench had about 65 defenders on it against Fulham though, a cheap attacking option isn't the worst thing to have, after Richy came on, there was nothing else. :)

Imo, Weghorst is a last 10 mins option to change a game. Utd don't need a 'real striker' they won like 9 in a row scoring gaols for fun recently. Rashford is in the form of his life.

Felix I'd agree with, but Chelsea are playing FM on cheat mode at the moment, and the loan cost almost 4 times more, so not really a like for like comparison. After his suspension, be interesting if he gets on the pitch after signing Mudyk though, depends how much it pissed off Potter I guess.

Probably why we’ve just done a short term loan.

Maybe because at the start of the window we weren't expecting our Director of Football to be be banned or our Manager to want to return to Italy for family reasons and so weren't DoF and Manger for the summer thinking we need to conserve our resources for our new DoF and Manger to spend in the summer. Loans might look a lot more attractive now than then.

Will be exciting to have an attacking player who is capable of beating his man with pace and trickery.
If a team can't pass then beating men is the only way to create.

I'm open to this as a Son alternative that can go at a man with trickery, pace and agility (Richarlison is not that kind of player)

Would still rather a team that passed the ball though.

Don't know why there's so much doom and gloom around this. It's virtually risk free and very cheap and addresses an existing deficiency. We can let Lucas go and actually have a player who can contribute off the bench, or maybe even push Sonny. If Conte doesn't like him we know he'll never get a chance. The only thing OK about the Zaniolo deal for me was that Conte wanted him. Maybe we take another shot at him in 6 months if needed. Might even be that getting Danjuma in gives us that bit extra we need for a CB which is a bigger priority imo.

Somehow for me this makes it worse. What’s the point?

- He does badly then it was a waste of time
- He does well and we effectively increase any price we would have to pay if we wanted to keep him and Villarreal wanted to sell

I also think it’s the wrong priority. He takes up wage budget and a squad place that could mean we decide not to pursue a more priority signing this window

We have no idea who Conte’s choices are. He was flavour of the month last season. I suspect with Pino his playing time has reduced.
