It may be correct though they may well have bid it but he was PSG bound.
Arsenal were always intent on building their squad and if they need a CB they'll buy one and if they think Coutinho will help them they'll try to get him, I never underestimate them but too many people do.
Two days ago I never gave Coutinho a second thought and now even though we are in the frame I am not convinced it will happen.

This is honestly worse. I'd much rather they sign Coutinho and end up with 8 players who can't defend on the field per game. They already have 2 players in Ceballos and Ozil who play a role just as effectively as Coutinho against 15 of the 20 teams in the league.

A proper defender or two and they will have a team worth being scared of.
