What is it with 'arry that he seems to favour certain players regardless of how they play. Crouch has all the mobility of Nelson's Column and only marginally more goal threat. The fact Pav has been used so little this season is criminal not just because he has deserved to get his chance ahead of Crouch and Keane but also because if 'arry wants to move him on then not playing him just kills his market value.

Let's have Pav alongside Defoe, they only got a few games together last Jan before Defoe got injured but it looked like a really promising partnership.

Keep Crouch for the bench for times when desperation calls for us to lump it into the box to a 6"7 statue.

No this isn't knee jerk I've been a Pav fan since he joined.

Pav rules. He links up with Lennon better than any player bar Modders

I've always liked Pav and think he is a very decent player, he's no berbatov but then neither is Crouch. He showed today what he is all about, he is a box player who will finish more times than not. His game isn't dropping deep and getting involved too much. For me he is a better player than Crouch and should be getting his chance.

Ever since Crouch has been at spurs we have played ridiculous bolton football and are completely clueless if that doesn't work.

Harry's pissing me off to be honest, Pav deserves to start against Fulham midweek but I doubt he'll even get off the bench and we will fuck up another chance.

Really cheesed off this week with another typical same old Tottenham, the team that always go fuck it up when they got a good thing going.

Why do we do it week in, week out, why do we do it :snooty:

I'm sorry, but I knew that would happen if he came on, even if he didn't score, he looked like doing way more than Crouch, and Defoe for that matter.

Can't believe he was the striker we were looking to get rid of, unbelievable.

He plays the Tottenham way, Crouch doesn't.

I reckon Crouchies a better footballer, control and hold up play but Pav is a more fluid striker and prob needs less chance to score.

Pav deserves a chance, he offers something very different.

When he came on, we looked far more threating, he played some lovely link up play too.

No long ball crap!

Pav and Defoe could be a great partnership, Crouch on bench, and as much as it pains to say it, Keane would be the 4th striker - depending on Defoe's form of course

He can certainly be easier on the eye than Crouch, and is it possible to doubt that his touch and finishing are both significantly superior? Difficult to put forward a definitive preference without seeing a bit more of him though, somewhat absurdly.

Given that putting our chances away has been one of the biggest problems for us, it's pretty shocking that he has been left rotting on the bench until today. He came on and put the ball in the back of the net twice, both very good finishes and one only disallowed due to a debatable offside.

I'm not gonna say whether he is better than Crouch or not, but IMO the best striker is the one putting the ball in the net. Crouch, Keane and Defoe have all had plenty of pitch time where they havent come up with the goods. Pav came on and did well today, he deserves a runout against Fulham, will be interesting to see if he gets it.

Thats the way I see it, Crouch's first touch was very poor today, if Pav moves on we need a Kanoute Mk2.

last season before defoe got injured, pav and defoe were on fire together linking up very well with modric, i'm very dissapointed that redknapp has used pav so little this season, hope he gets his chance!

i've been very disappointed with harry's treatment of pav, he's deserved more time than he got, whereas crouch has got more than he deserved

Couldn't believe it when harry bought him on but he was up for it. Great dummy for the goal and great finish too

Have I missed something here? Didn't Crouch score today as well? Or does that not count?

Does that make it Crouch and Pav on Tuesday then?

Postiga scored once when he came on too.

I posted this in today's match thread and this is how I feel about Pav:

On balance, I've seen more of the disinterested Pav than I have of today's Pav, but I'd be more than happy to see that balance switch right round.

Overall, I think Pav has had a higher percentage of poor performances/games per appearance for Spurs than Crouch has, but if he can continue to play like he did today then he will win me over. At the moment though, I still think Crouch is a better striker for us than Pav is.
