if anyone is going to park in Tescos or Ikea on Wednesday at around 17:15-17:30 PM me and i'll give you my mobile. I can only get you to Sainsburys in Northumberland Park and might need to boot you out if they do the spot checks, which might be on the corner of the Billy Nic

edit: I'll have room for 8 bodies

edit2: I do have to be at the Sainsbury car park as near to the same time, as I've to meet someone as early as possible. I would pick up in the tesco garage, and if your not there by 5:15 (allowing me 15 mins) I'd not be able to wait

Guys, what about north Middlesex hospital ? It’s a public car park and aslong as you pay for the appropriate hours it should be fine. I think it’s a 20 min walk to the stadium. Was thinking of doing that for the Brighton game I’ll be going to which is midweek.

That’s where I parked yesterday cost £8 for up to 8hrs and was just a 20min walk. I suggest you make sure you downloythe app and register with Just Park but machines did take cards and cash just a bit of a faff.

I did notice some parking places on Pretoria at £10 for event days so if you are early that is even closer but maybe getting away is a little more difficult.

looking at parking options - if I get a overland train from Northumberland park northbound - is it a nightmare getting on a train after the game?

The queues I saw for north bound an hour after the final whistle were huge. I thought it wasn’t the normal southbound queue but when I got near the fron it was definitely northbound.

Lovely cheers mate I’ll park at the hospital then :) 20 min walk is fine by me and I’ll be there early anyway as I want to see the new stadium properly. I’ll put 5 hours on and get there for 5ish. How was getting away from the hospital ? I take it a lot better as it’s further out ?

Just be careful on a proper match day. I parked at the hospital for years but it’s now specifically defined within the CPZ zone as non-event parking. There is not too much they can do about somebody parking there and not going into the hospital but I suspect in the first few week so they will have people watching Andy perhaps checking on entry.

We used to park outside the hospital.

We're not going to drive anymore though. I think if you live in Essex or Hertfordshire you should just get the train. It's going to be chaos otherwise.

Getting away was easy. I did hang around at the stadium for a while though to see it. Mind you there looked by large queues still at WHL station which you pass.

I did wonder if it was right I park in a hospital carpark knowing how busy they can get but there was a lot of space and clearly it’s used as a more general car park and no doubt is a good money raiser for the hospital trust so would rather give them my money than a business cashing in

Just checking TFL, and surely it can't be right that they're still only running trains every 30 mins to Enfield and Cheshunt after the match?

Fine mate. Got back to the car at 10pm exactly after leaving couple mins after final whistle.

They had shut the big gate but the other gate was open that leads either to north circular or into Tesco.
Might explore this option. My experience with the trains didn't go too well last night.

The one irony of moving home from Wembley is that it was a lot easier for me to get to and from Wembley than it is the Lane. I’m in the south east and have recently moved slightly further out as well and the routes even more fuckery. Not a complete nightmare but just an annoying amount of changes and a long journey time.

I posted this in another forum ' transport options' earlier; I would be interested to know if others tried at the Hospital.
Yes, I struggled too. Prior to Wembley, I had been parking in the North Middlesex Hospital Car Park without any problems. It was always no more than half full so it wasn't anti -social and I felt happy paying the fee to the Hospital funds. So, I confidently arrived there( I drive over 100 miles) arriving at 4pm to find absolute bedlam with cars circling around. Whether this was anything to do with the game I couldn't tell but obviously if you need to park at the Hospital itself , it is a bad situation. So, in a bit of a dilemma, I set off down Pretoria Road to look for any private parking as I had seen some before. The only one was the Irish Club which was already full. I found myself turning left into White Hart Lane and there was a Van Hire place with cars going in so I followed but was rather shocked to be told £30 !! By this time , I was getting quite rattled and just happened to have exactly £30 in my wallet so went for it as a one off. It was only because I knew the stadium was ' cashless' or I would have only had loose change left. Annoyingly, I walked further towards the ground and there was an Industrial Estate with a £20 parking sign outside, so I think I was a bit ripped off but needs must and all that.
I'm going to the City game. Public transport isn't an option. I come off the North Circular road from the West, so I too would be grateful for any suggestions.

Not sure there will ever be much room at the Irish centre as they used to do parking season tickets so I presume any spaces will be very limited

You need to go up to N17 & N18 on your day off and do some homework.

Eg. You can park for free opposite McDonald’s in Edmonton (north bound) side of road on a yellow line from 7pm. Don’t get caught out as it becomes a bus lane from 6-7pm. If necessary pay to park in a bay on the south bound side between 6-7pm Then park for free.

There are other yellow lines that you can park on but these fill up quickly.

There are also loads of private places of Brantwood Road on the industrial estates from £10.

Don’t nick my space.

if you turn right to join the A10 from where you travel, if you go under the A10 and head for the next exit (stay left hand lane once out) you will see signs for Tottenham, or best thing is just put Ikea in your sat nav
