The stream I'm watching has no commentary, & the game resembles a pre - season friendly between 2 non - league sides. Just need to hear the results of the raffle draw now to complete the matchday experience.

Same here mate. Reminds me of a lockdown match. They didn't even really cheer after they scored, just a very polite clap.

This is a hodgepodge of a team, so really no need to panic. Very passive in midfield. CCV went to sleep for the goal.

not sure why anyone expected much more when we picked a highly experimental side against the team that finished 5th in Portugal last year. You dont just chuck a team like that out and expect any semblance of fluidity.

Its only 1-0. Nothing to suggest that we cant blow them away with a full team next week.

winks has been so poor, just going through the motions, thinks he’s better than the opposition when actually he’s being shown up by them

This is why N'Dombele is a prick, he should be playing this. He not injured. Our midfield just disappeared after 10 minutes. Not sure why Sissoko isn't there either. The opposition are just poor, big strong fit, but shit. Play better and we'll win it 2nd half, but I'm not confident anymore.

It's hard to judge players individually when it's all so disjointed. None of them have looked like playing their way into the first team, however. But along side a proper squad I think each individual would look better.

Hopefully just a lack of match sharpness.

I thought Winks was alright though? Carter vickers probably the only one I'd suggest looks out of his depths.

Said yesterday it was pure arrogance to go out there and expect to beat them, they finished 5 in the Portuguese league.

Romero looks really poor
Sessegeon could be a worse signing that N’dombele
Winks we know

Scarlett & Carter vickers only players that say we’ve done okay

I have absolutely 0 idea how you can think CCV has done okay but there we are.

Doherty
Oh dear, not watching but read on Twitter was down to winks giving the ball away?

To be expected though isn’t it? Such a crap player, makes a decent pass several times a season against weak opponents. Doherty is useless too, and not sure what CCV was doing for the goal, he should have tracked the runner who was a yard onside when CCV appealed for offside.

Taking Winks and Doherty off without bringing anyone on would improve us!

It's hard for me to get upset about this. We obviously don't care about this competition beyond using it as a chance to let fringe players and kids play. The only thing that gets on my nerves is how shockingly bad some of these senior players are. Sessegnon also looking worryingly bad.

Romero
Holy fuck get winks off
Dunno how many times I have said this now, but how much longer do we need to suffer having Harry fucking Winks in our squad?? He is a fucking awful footballer and is now getting games under another new manager. Fucking seriously!

And what the fuck is Paratici doing?? Winks, Aurier, Dier, Sanchez and Sissoko all still at the club. We need another CB, RB, play maker, and at least one, possibly 2 new strikers. Alll with less than 2 weeks of the transfer window to go and with an approximate net spend of 5m quid so far. Remember both Romero and Gollini have been brought in on tick ffs.

Looks like another window of smoke and mirrors from our illustrious owners!! Shocking.

They look more likely to score than us when attacking though.
Did we even have a shot on target? Felt like we had a lot of the ball in the middle and tried to pass it around in our little triangles but didn't create a thing beyond about 10 minutes.

It was like watching Arsenal.

Well. Gil and Winks are the only players playing alright. Our midfield is almost non-existent. Lo Celso has been dreadful - not helping to defence and no contribution to the attack. Nile John barely touched the ball.
Btw, the goal came because apparently CCV doesn't know what is an offside trap

The squad isn't talented enough to freeze out a player of Ndombele's skill level. Similarly, there's no way Aurier should be sold if the plan is not to sign a right back. Last Sunday covered up what is demonstrable today: the squad as a whole is weaker than last season. There is time to rectify that, but if there is limited funds without the Kane sale, then he needs to be moved on and Paratici needs to spread the cash out and bring in 5-6 signings like Zaha, Damsgaard, Aouar, Zakaria and Insigne to lift the talent level of the collective.

People are talking about Bergwijn, Dele and Moura, but those three players haven't shown yet they can produce in games like this, either, recently. It's so imperative that additional attacking players be brought in and frankly, Nuno needs to use his man management skills and re-integrate Ndombele into the squad.
