Maybe we see Parrott as Kane backup in 18 months or so.
Very very good point mate, didn’t think of that. Combo of Kane and Giroud for next 2 seasons with Parrott starting to get minutes or a loan etc to be ready to step up, if not then we look to sign another striker then.

you could be spot on

2 goals in 32 PL games since 2018. He scored 11 in Europa League, but that is Europa League. Also scored 0 goals when France won the WC.

Exactly. There’s a reason he’s being linked with West Ham. The clue is there why we shouldn’t be anywhere near him.

Giroud is a very clever player. Even when he doesn't score his movement and presence allows others to get in the right position. That's one of the reasons he has a WC Winners medal.

Which F’ng part of him is washed up? Don’t read into this as we done a deal! Just a question in general. I won’t get involved in exchanges ?

⚠️⚠️⚠️Don’t ask us questions, please!!!⛔️⛔️⛔️

His legs, which I see as quite an important part of football, are gone. Look at who he has scored against in the past 3 years, he is long past it. One exceptional game - against Arsenal, doesn’t mean he still has it. In the league, for Chelsea, he averages a goal every 500 minutes. You lot can sugar coat this shit link all you want. He’s wank now.

Let’s be honest he’s not that good anymore maybe just the best of a bad bunch we have been linked to these last few days but that really doesn’t say much, he’s doesn’t get a game for any side in the top 6. Really hope we have another bergwijn up our sleeve

If we can't get a striker in (and if we're depending on Chelsea to bail us out of our predicament I don't think we will do), I hope Jose will relent and play Son up top. Son may not be Jose's ideal target man but then neither is Piatek, who was obviously one of our top targets at the position this window. Son has filled in admirably on past occasions when Harry has been unavailable and is better suited to the role than anyone else we've got.

Jose was also resistant to playing Lo Celso in central midfield, but relented when injuries forced his hand and Gio has been an absolute revelation there since being given the chance. I think the same would be true of Son up top, and with Bergwijn now added to the squad we'd still have plenty of options elsewhere in attacking midfield/wide forward positions.

We're clearly panicking now Piatek isn't happening so i'm just glad we've managed to get Bergwijn in for our short term needs if anything. Somebody to cover the wing whilst Son or Lucas play up front. I'd much rather Jose did this than accept some Championship standard lamppost as we're not getting Giroud.

Giroud would be an excellent signing to be honest. Maybe not popular to say that but it's true.

Strong disagree there, 9 goals in his last 61 premier league appearances. Only scored 2 goals in 27 premier league games for Chelsea last year.

Sorry, pal - you must have missed the memo. It’s 2013 now.
Damnit, nvm sign him up!

Really hard to be optomistic about a striker at this point. I personally think Alcacer or Willian Jose would be acceptable options at this point but really glad we've waited until 2 days left!

Solely quoting Giroud's goal numbers as evidence of his quality shows a profound misunderstanding of his playing style. I don't want Giroud because I don't want ex-Gooners, but as a FW his game has always been much more about hold-up play than just goal scoring.

It's not all about the goals, he would be a great focal point for our attack which is really what we are missing up there without Harry.

To be fair I think Arsenal’s demise started when they sold this guy. He was their plan B to rescue matches that weren’t going their way and when he was sold they started losing / drawing home matches against far inferior opponents. As a short term Kane back up I wouldn’t be against it
...and it came back to bite the mine the Europa League Final last season

He never had any pace in the first place. How can something that was never there in the first place be gone?

I suppose I have overlooked that as it is a big need, but we're also really struggling to score goals in general so we really need both.
