A few of the first years, such as Kudus Oyenuga, Harry Kane and Olumide Durojaiye, saw Academy (and in Oyenuga's case, reserve team) action last year.

It will be interesting how the lads progress without a reserve league to battle for!

The Academy lads would push to play in the ressies to then shine and get pushed towards the 1st team! The gap between the academy and the 1st team seems ever bigger now!

We're still going to play "reserve" games, but they'll be arranged as friendlies.
Most likely with higher quality players as Redknapp intends to use it for first team players in need of a match.

We will also travel to a lot of tournaments. Linking this to the 'global brand' thread, it could be a good idea to send the 'reserves' out to countries who have their off season over the winter, as well as places where we can raise our profile

Fwiw - Kasim was second year Academy last year, so he'd now be in the "Professionals" list along with the likes of Adam Smith and Andros Townsend here:

Yaser is conspicuous by his absence.

As I stated in his dedicated thread, I have little doubt he'll show up on the books of another club, maybe even a PL club, some time soon.

The irritating thing is that, on the few occasions I saw him, he gave the Academy team something different. He was a genuine, deep lying, passing playmaker. Breaking up play and passing it quickly and intelligently.

Still, the Academy coaches saw him every day in training, and he's gone.
