The Highbury replay was sheer magic...i was just barely a teenager but got on the pitch at the end and dug up there pitch ruining a pair of shoes in the process....worth every penny.
Just posted the same on A&C's post. That night was so special.

So many memories the cup run starting at QPR and never leaving London until the semi at Hillsborough which is poignant for what happened a few years later plus Clive Thomas and Kenny Hibbitt. - Then the replay at Highbury and waking back down the Seven Sisters road with thousands of Spurs. Living in Tottenham and its a thing that's lost now, loads of the shops pubs and houses were done up I particuarly remember Whitehall St the flats opposite the ground being covered in Blue and White bunting and balloons

The first game at Wembley with time disappearing faster than I can ever remember thank you Mr Hutchinson. Getting back home from the first game and getting into the queue for tickets in the early hours. The queue went all the way down Park Lane and virtually back all the way down Northumberland Park.

The Replay I just remember Wembley literally bouncing when Crooks scored after that its all a bit blurred. Got back to Tottenham after driving back in a mates car down the North Circ which was a procession of Blue and White. and then going down the High Road. i believe the team got back with the cup and Crooks was waving it out the window below the clock,

The day after the Friday I wouldn't like to have guessed what the absenteeism was like in Tottenham that day as I remember it being like a match in the pubs in the afternoon and evening and that seemed to last to Sunday when they did the procession.

Great times

Meaningless thread but I just finished watching the highlights of the 1981 FA Cup Final and the full match of the replay. Pure nostalgia. Glenn Hoddle was superb in that match, as was Ardiles. At the end of the DVD it also showed interviews with most of the players as well.

This was the 1st ever Spurs match that I watched and which made me an instant Yid.

I love my Spurs. COYS!

It's the game that made me a spur. ...happy days!

I'm lucky that I chose this match to watch my first English football game. Everything pointed towards me supportig spurs rather than City.

1. The nice white kit
2. The handsome players compared to City's Paul Power, Hutchinson and Gow.
3. Glenn Hoddle's art of playing football
4. The Villa goal
5. The victory

If the roles were reversed, i might well be a City supporter up to this day *cringes
SNAP to all the above!!

Went to both matches also ...
Behind the goal for the first match and level with the penalty box second game ..
Thankfully the end where Ricky scored.
Remember him jinking along the area towards me (and others) then letting fly ...
What a day !!!

That Crooks goal was the best moment of my Tottenham supporting life! Saw us win the Uefa in '72 at WHL, was a kid, saw us win it in '84 with the Tony Parks save. The Crooks moment was something else completely and can never explain it! You had to be there! It wasn't even a winning goal, but the energy it created was something else!

After he scored, and we got settled again, I was a couple of stands up behind the goal, there were jumpers, jackets, hats and shoes flying overhead. That's when I realized that I was one shoe short. I'd lost my shoe. Remember thinking..."I've lost my fucking shoe...sock on concrete!" Didn't think about it again and when Villa scored, we all went nuts, and the same thing happened, a load of clothing was tossed up in the air. Settled down again and my mate, with shoe in hand, said, "Is this yours?" It was my shoe! The whole night was crazy, and that Crooks goal was my Spurs moment!
