To be brutally honest, I'd trade that for actually controlling games, and retaining possession rather than his percentages football.

That’s not primarily why he in the team though is it?

I admit possession is a team responsibility but our other midfielders are just as - if not more - guilty of squandering that. Especially the deeper lying ones.

We need another Moose.

I like how (insert player name) was calling to be played, and then slammed left right centre when he finally plays.

I like how (insert player name) was being called shit in past matches but was so missed when he was absent, thinking he would be the right player for (insert opponent) match.

Take away Foyths and Auriers brain farts and we actually played some decent football at times today.

We've sacked a manger mid season and this Spurs squad is in a major transition. Mourinho has flat out said that the defence is a major concern.
We'll just have to accept that it will take time both for Mourinho to galvanize the team and infuse his tactics, and for the new players to hit their stride.

.

Oh come on, we’ve just drew against an absolute shower of shite. On paper we should have blown them out of the water. We’re supposed to be a top 4 side yet we look nowhere near it at the mo. Defence is pathetic, reverted back to passing the ball side ways all game and our attacking players didn’t turn up again. Barring getting a player sent off or a dodgy officiating decision under no circumstances should we be dropping points against relegation cannon fodder.

Moose was literally a unique player, but Ndombele offers some very similar qualities and is seriously good.

Don't concede that second goal and we would have won that comfortably. We were the only team who looked like scoring in the second half.

We shouldn't be signing Jan to a new contract. He's past it. Its best for him if he moves to a slower league as he cant handle the pace of the PL anymore.

We can't defend, simple as that, and its going to take some time to fix.

Ndombele has tried two vertical dribbles and has been bumped off the ball both times. On two occasions, instead of going up for a 50/50 ball, he waited an age for it to drop and, of course, lost out to a more determined and energetic Norwich player.
All the rude things I said about Ndombele at half time were contradicted by his performance thereafter. He fought for the ball and used his skill. In the first half, he couldn't use his skill, because he didn't fight for the ball.

Yesterday, I was writing about how much we depended on Eriksen for our cohesion in the 2-3 years when we were really good. Today we saw again in the second half what a top class midfielder he is when he is motivated. He was the obvious man of the match, the only player on the pitch from either side who saw the game before the game got there.

In the first half, we also saw why we signed Lo Celso to replace him. He's also got vision, although he's a bit less inspired and bit more competitive. He'll come good.

The OG was a fluke, but until we stop conceding 2 goals a game, we won't get anywhere. Some of them are down to good play by the opposition, but an awful lot of them are down to lack of cover from midfield or Keystone Kops lack of communication from the defence.

I reckon Foyth has less than a year to sort himself out. He's not making progress. You can see the talent, but the hubris, over-confidence and lack of judgment are threatening to derail his career. He makes the same expensive mistakes that he made as a teenager and he makes one or two every match he plays.

As I wrote at half time, the team lacks balance. Mainly, it lacks a top class defensive midfielder who can stay fit.

Toby and Sanchez really should be a cb pairing good enough for top 4. Id put them higher than any of Chelsea's and Man City's (although Laporte on his own is better than all ours). Soyuncu and Evans probably slightly better. It's more about them being paired with by far the worst fullbacks of out of all top 6 clubs. It's not even close

At least Jose recognised a system that wasn’t working and changed it at half time with 2 subs that impacted the game...

We probably would have never got that with Poch, not until the 79th min anyhow

Agree with that. Mourinho learns about the squad.

I agree your point on Sissoko.

But every players who didn't play will always be missed until they play, where they will be given all the sticks.
Winks in the last game, people were crying out for Winks and his passing. Had an awful game, then they complain that he should never play for us again. One poster implied that Winks is one of Jose's favourites so is bound to start!! I think he's only played twice under Jose? I might be wrong, but it's not a lot. People are mental.

Ndombele is the best replacement for him that we could dream of. People forget that as good as Dembele was Wanyama was a key player alongside him when we played our best football. We need another Wanyama from a few years ago alongside Ndombele and we'll be fine in midfield.

Ndidi type and a new right back, perhaps another centre half ( I’d like a physically imposing one, not just quick, but powerful and strong ) and it would look a lot better. I’m happy to stick with Davies and Sess for the left back slot

Not easy to find the quality needed though

There’s not point, it wouldn’t make any difference. This lot have been making mistakes for years. They aren’t good enough at the top level. Some aren’t good enough for even top 6 anymore.

The only way it’ll get better is if quite a few of them leave the club and are replaced with better players
Agreed, but it’s like these players have no intelligence let alone footballing intelligence. They shouldn’t need to be told such obvious things in terms of basics of defending, running, pressing and showing desire!
