Tottenham do have an eye on Fiorentina's 23-year-old centre-back Nikola Milenkovic and the Serbian will likely be a cheaper option than others because he is now in the final 12 months of his contract.

Unlike the Bologna kids, I’ve watched a bit of this guy deliberately as we we’ve been linked to him for a little while. I really like him, he isn’t phased by players being run at and as you would expect at his height he is pretty dominant too. Seems a comfortable passer too but you never quite know how much the pace in Serie A helps him in this aspect. Not saying he’s a good, but I see a bit of VVD in him.

A slight worry is that all of the CBs we've been linked to are pretty young and apart from Skriniar not overall experienced at leading the defence. With Toby going we need a leader at the back more than ever considering the CBs we probably want to keep are also the inexperienced Rodon and Tanganga

Either way, judging by the defenders being linked by any sources it does seem like he wants at least one centre back who can pass well which is encouraging
