Yeah I do get why we don’t play son at rw. He clearly is fine there. He’s not exactly scoring so it’s better to move him there then waste richie or danjuma there
That was true until recently, but he has just scored 3 goals in his last 3 games.

So in the end he didn't mind leaving Italy, after all that arguing on here. Bournemouth or Galatasaray were the only two firm offers. Wow, what a choice of stellar clubs.

Richarlison has played about 450 PL minutes in a very injury-plagued season so far. Damning him for not scoring any PL goals would be very harsh at this point.
I wasn't damning him, but suggestions that he should be starting at LW are a bit naïve. His form and match-fitness so far don't merit this, while Son (who the previous poster was suggesting should be displaced) has just put in strong performances in back-to-back games.

I know! We'll get him match fit by not playing him, that's how it works isn't it?

I know! We'll perform better if we prioritise getting Richarlison match-fit over playing a currently in-form Son in his best position. That's how it works isn't it? ?‍♂️
Yep, that's how it works, spread the load and get all your best players fit for the last third of the season. Not rocket science...

So first we shouldnt drop Son because any game he could come back into form (which took him until PNE game, if hes actually even back) and now he cant be dropped because he might be in form. When can someone else actually get a fair shot at that position?

Guys, please take this to the right thread, like the Son or Richy thread.
That way I can check this thread when it's bumped because Zaniolo has actually played a game in Turkey.
I'm intrigued to see how he'll do, not wanting to wade through pages of debate about Sonny and Richy.

I thought Son should have been dropped. Now that he has finally found some form, there is no longer justification for dropping him.

Roma's Sporting director with quite a quote - "Even I may think I should earn X money, but if I decide to leave Roma and I see that only Bournemout and Galatasary want me, you have to ask yourself some questions".

I'm personally not convinced we were interested in him very much, if at all.

At £18m I would have thought more teams go in for him, even if it was £25m.

Maybe his injury record is that risky. Could have dodged a bullet. We really don't need more injury prone players

I think if this situation had happened in the summer he'd very likely be a Spurs player as there was more optimism around Conte staying at the club long term and building on his top 4 finish.

But with a few left months on Conte's contract and no sign of him re-signing, I can understand why the club didn't want to bring in a player like Zaniolo who, while talented, is an awkward style of player to fit into many systems. I think we were only chasing him to appease Conte so why pay up when Conte's probably off in the summer.

I think Porro, in comparison, was seen as a massive talent and the type of signing that we could use going forward regardless of whether Conte stayed.
