Last season and the season prior highlight the importance of getting the ‘right manager’.

Brighton - stepped up at level under de Zerbi
Newcastle - almost relegated, now a top three side with a few key signings
Aston Villa - in serious trouble under Gerrard. Qualified for Europe with the same players. Extremely difficult to break down and more importantly they were picking up wins instead of draws

You then get the poor appointments:

Spurs - Stellini = free fall
Leeds - Allardyce = relegated
Chelsea - Lampard = horrendous form for a club with huge resources
That shows what great leadership from the top can achieve 👍

Wow, that’ll make all the difference then 🤣. With all respect to yourself, maybe we’ll all say well Tonio was right/or wrong and thrash our collective selfs to within an inch? The point is you do not have a crystal ball, are a soothsayer or like Nostradamus. You are like me, some random guy on a chat forum that may think something.
I doubt you’ll be thrashing yourselves. Or was that a little bit of sarcasm perhaps? Anyway you’re right I don’t have a crystal ball or any of that paraphernalia. All we have on this forum is opinions.

I’ve seen people getting excited about Ange because there’s a video of him shouting at his team not to pass the ball back.

I have a video of 60000 spurs fans shouting this exact same thing week in week out for the last 4 years.
Yeah I've seen it and I have to say it's nothing special at all. It's nothing you wouldn't see from any competent accademy youth coach tbh.

How were they well beaten by Roma….
lost 4-1 to Roma in Europe good game some late goals as they pushed on but they were outplayed most of that game by a fairly average Rome side - which proves nothing really but if your comparing the managers its relevant

There's that word again. I'm still waiting for someone to explain what we're risking with Ange that we weren't risking by hiring Conte.

Basic common sense would be not doing what we've been doing for the past 4 years. Basic common sense would entail trying something different, unorthodox.

I've already given you my reasons for why I think Postecoglou is a good choice. It's not my problem to convince you if you can't understand those reasons.
I think youll find there's a reason why you're waiting for someone to explain to you why Conte isn't such a risk as Ange.

To ask such a question makes it sound like youre on a wind up.

Who cares? This example was only used to disprove the ridiculous notion that someone's coaching history must be "comparable to the Premier League".

Ange is the wildcard, Rodgers and Potter are the familiar been there, done that. I don't expect people like you to grasp that.
You seem to care.

The coaching history doesn't need to be comparable but what Ferguson achieved outweighs Ange massively.

Why Ange is being considered for the job is beyond me. Stinks of desperation, being cheap and Levy getting a yes man similar to Nuno. "We will make you proud" 2.0 incoming

You still haven't explained why not Mark Robbins or Kieran McKenna?

not a microcosm, just a reflection of the vacuum created by the lack of leadership, identity, planning, and sensible comms
Fair enough, but I think we've always been like this. A percentage want one thing, another percentage want something else, etc etc.

Every time I try and convince myself this could turn out well, I come back to the fact that Poch, Nagelsmann and Gallardo, three managers who are exactly what we need, have been available for months and we're completely ignoring that.

Sir Alex was 45 when he joined Utd. A big concern with Ange is he's 57 and not managed in a top league before.

Well, that cant be AP right?
Could well be couldn't it? Rolling one year contract so no compensation, low-ish wages compared to everyone else with a better CV and won't have enough credit in the bank from elsewhere to be making big demands.

Ticks a few boxes and is known by Munn. Have to say if it happens I'll back him but he's only held off the bottom of the pile of those linked by Rodgers for me.
