Whilst we continue to arse around on the recruitment front for both manager and DoF, we look shambolic, and no surprise candidates would prefer to stay where they are comfortable with their structure and being offered improved deals to stay put.
Whether we are stuck deciding whether to appoint a manager and then source a DoF to work with them, or a DoF first who can identify a suitable manager, either way we need to make one appointment a bit lively. Feels like we are being left behind as candidates either move to other clubs, or sign new deals, and effectively cross themselves off our list.

We are literally Left Behind FC

Wishful thinking I know, but I am hoping we are monitoring things at Bayern… If Krosche does not land there, perhaps we try to convince him and Nagelsmann?

The Rodgers hatred is a bit over the top. He’s obviously a prat but he delivered Liverpool’s best league season in a long while, and won Leicester the FA Cup (and two pretty decent league seasons from memory). I don’t want him, but he’s not as bad as people are suggesting.

Just talking to Celtic mate, corporate season ticket holder, who was at an event over the weekend to celebrate title win which was attended by some club executives. Apparently all talk about plans in place already for next season.

Nothing confirmed by executives but talk doing the rounds was Big Ange has been offered biggest contract in clubs history, far exceeding Brendan Rodgers wages, with Dermot Desmond to provide significant investment for playing squad. Club looking to get out of group stage in Champions league this season. New deal to be announced after Scottish Cup final. Mate is convinced it's a done deal.

Personally hope he's wrong, think Big Ange would be a great fit for Spurs. Think he'd do a great job for us. Hopefully Joe Lewis asks Kenny Daglish for advice again.

If you were Kenny, you'd be going "nah he's average mate, shit league, heard he's got dodgy files on his laptop, I'd avoid"

I'm surprised there hasn't been more noise around Amorim. According to WLB he was very impressive in his interview, and he's even offered up his resignation at Sporting as he didn't manage to get them in the CL places this season.

He would be ideal for us imo.

Cut Levy some slack, please.

How can you expect us to have a new manager already when he’s had the Beyoncé concert to focus on?
He was probably even involved in moving the sliders on the mixing desk; and overseeing the lighting… whilst wearing a backwards baseball cap …

I just find it curious that people seem to be on board with Ange, but ridicule the idea of Rodgers. The former seems like a better bloke, but the latter has way more of note on his CV (and is younger).

I'd happily have him , I can't see it though as I reckon the buyout fee for him is more than were willing to pay.

Krosche wants to go somewhere he can have a lot of autonomy it seems. Levy isn’t going to give him that so I think there’s zero chance he comes.

For me I think it's because Levy and co and have come out and said that they want attacking football. Mason has said we need someone to unite the club again.

I think that's Ange's two biggest draws. Rodgers I think could get us playing good stuff but he's always kind of come off a little unlikeable. Add in his recent momentum compared to Ange and I think that's where the divide happens.

I agree on that part, I don’t find Ange very interesting either.

I think we very often try to find the positives in what our gut feeling tells us is a bad appointment and ends up settling with it or even convince ourselves it could work.

I personally did that with the Nuno appoinment, settled with it, because who knows he might work.

But, I think that should serve as a lesson, we can’t settle with Ange, Rodgers or another dude who has done well but not exceptional.

It's was funny talking to Celtic mate about state the club was in prior to Big Ange taking over.....
Hated owner, fans wanted rid of Dermot D as no significant investment & botched managerial search.
Chief executive leaving & questions over replacement.
Top managerial target, Eddie Howe, walked away as club wouldn't appoint DOF, guarantee investment etc..
Squad needed full rebuild as club captain leaving, Scott B, top defender went to Brentford, top striker to Palace plus more.
Interim manager in place for 4 months, ex player John Kennedy.
Team finished season miles behind main rival.

Sound like any club we know???

Big Ange appointed & majority of fans were disgusted, thought it was a piss take. They have since signed 16+ players in 2 seasons, mostly not from Japan! Big Ange recommended Asian players he was convinced would work & club backed him. He works directly with scouting department, identifies position & skill set required. Club put list of players together which are within budget & achievable signings, Big Ange has final say after talking to players. No player is signed without his approval.
