and for that matter Slot
The Dutch league is far more competitive. But even if we ignore how bad the Scottish league is for a moment, Slot won with the third biggest club in Holland. The league there has been dominated by Ajax and PSV for much of the last decade or more. He also had a great track record in Europe.

It’s like winning the Scottish league with Hearts. Something that’s not been done since before Spurs did the double in 1961.

Nagglesman was managing the biggest club in Germany. It’s in no way comparable to the kind of dross that’s in the Scottish league. It’s one of the top five leagues in the continent in one of the biggest footballing nations. Before being at Bayern he elevated Hoffenheim and Leipzig to champions league clubs, again with a very good track record in Europe.

The Scottish league is an uncompetitive joke. Celtic have won the league for 11 out of the last 10 years. Or is it 12 of the last 11 I forget. You have to go all the way back to 1984 to find the last winner who wasn’t in Glasgow.

Don’t remind me how great Slot is again.

I had almost gotten over it.

I think you vastly under estimate what he has done up there you need to understand the atmosphere around the club when he arrived and compare it to what it is now night and day and that's down almost entirely down to his management and charisma - its certainly not easy to do what he has done
I think you vastly under estimate what money can do. If Tottenham outspent every single team in the Premier League combined the atmosphere on these forums would be a lot better.

When he took over Celtic they had won 9 of the last 10 Scottish titles. Some of you are going on as if he turned around Everton.

I think judging Ange's suitability for the Prem is very difficult. It's hard to use his CV to promote his appointment as much as dismiss it.

In general, I want managers to have done something to earn managing a club that is usually in the top 6 in the best league in the world.

But who knows, he might be perfect for us.

Ange's work before Celtic is quite impressive. Yeah, not in leagues even as good as SPL, but great stuff nevertheless. Small sides that massively overachieved with him, and completely reinvented the Australian national team, putting them on the trajectory they're currently on

I think Levy’s biggest problem going forward is that regardless of who the new manager/DOF is they have to be given sone form of autonomy/ control to sort out the squad. When all the loanees return we have as bloated a squad as Chelsea(although probably not as talented) and equally unbalanced Where they have no striker we have no AM. There has to be some hard decisions made about who goes and who stays and Levy has to accept he’s not going to get the fees he would like. This is the price of the last few years mismanagement. He’s got to accept he is not qualified to determine what the makeup of the final squad is and let the manager or DOF make the final judgements otherwise next season is going to be a clustef**k.
