I know this is a joke, but presumably if he signs a new deal there will be a big release clause in there.
Which you'd expect.

Where it gets murky is what if he's not happy with a large clause (stifling his PL ambitions).. or what happens if again nobody thinks its worth buying him out.

All ill say is.........@hercules said something about a smoke screen........maybe its all to do with that and Slot wasn't out first choice at all?

Or maybe the smoke is just the whole club going up in flames?

I see it more like Stars in Their Eyes.

“So Daniel, tell us who you’re going to be.”

“Well tonight Matthew, I’m going to be a competent football club chairman.”

We aren’t getting Nagelsmann. It’s going to be someone like the bloke from Celtic, Glasner, Enrique or potter or rodgers. In fact, who would be surprised if we got turned down by that lot too?

It must be Levy. People just aren’t that desperate for a job that they’d tolerate working with him.

How has levy still got a job?

He is clearly betting on himself. Maybe hoping for an even better offer from maybe one of the Spanish giants or maybe Liverpool or Chelsea etc.

No. More. Chelsea. Managers.

Potter also looked absolutely broken at the end of his time there. Needs to reset and rebuild his career at a mid table side.
How fortunate! :cautious:

I know he's not popular but I think Potter could be really good for us if we are in for a genuine reset and rebuild. I suspect his man management of players is excellent which seems to be what we need - an arm around the shoulder and encouragement.

However, after Chelsea I'm not sure if the fanbase would allow him the time needed - too much "banter" from the Chavs.

I think Potter would be pretty good tbh.
Whether he would or wouldn't is a different discussion; the thing is he's another that came out and said he wouldn't work under Levy.

So it's moot if Potter is the next second coming of Pep/Klop or Mick McCarthy with a different accent!

The slot thing makes no sense, how can you ask for compensation of say 15m when he is on a contract worth nowhere near that, also why come straight out if your slot and say you are staying, why not let the clubs negotiate and then see, to come out the next day and say your staying and not even see how much we would pay makes no sense
Also I don't but the he was using us to get a new contract either, whatever they pay we would probably double and he has nothing else to do in Holland as he won the league

If it is Potter, so be it.
Those rubbishing him now are probably the same ones who were clamouring for him whilst he was at Brighton.
Things went wrong at Chelsea, it was the wrong club at the wrong time.
Would rather have Potter than some of the names linked such as Lopetegui, Glasner and Amorim.

I’m a spurs fan so I’m obviously a born optimist and therefore i’m sure levy has it already sorted it out and is just waiting for the end of the season to announce the new director and coach.😀😀
