It’s still hereBring back the WTF emoji !!
Great postNah. I've never understood this idea that Levy "isn't a football man" and "doesn't get it".
The guy knows more about Tottenham Hotspur and football than everyone on this forum put together. He has part-owned a football club for 20 years. He knows it top from bottom. He's there every day. He has signed and sold over a hundred players. He knows and is known by everyone in football. He practically runs the Premier League. He is executive chairman of the European Club Association.
He has hundreds of millions of pounds invested in the club - if you're hurt when we lose, imagine how you'd feel if you were him watching the club you support go down the pan and have a fortune riding on!
If you think you know more about football than him, you're deluding yourself. In fact, it's just utterly laughable to think that you do. You are a fan, I am a fan. We are not in the game in the same way as he is, managers are and players are.
The problem isn't that he "isn't a football man" or "doesn't get it". The problem is that he hasn't been making the right choices and, certainly recently, hasn't been good at the football side of his job.
We need Levy to get a new DoF in who isn't a criminal and is better and who can take the whole lot off him.
My issue with the coaches that have experienced the ups and downs with slightly bigger clubs is that they really only fall into two buckets. 1. They have extremely high expectations (Mourinho/Conte) or they are slightly damaged goods. There are lot of things to like about Slot. But lets be honest, he will be a big gamble. He could be a Ten Hag or a average Koeman or even worse Frank De Boer
My biggest problem with him is, his lack of experience handling star players. There's simply no player in Feynoord you would say is a star player or high maintenance player
When things get tough in PL, can he get the team going ?
At the moment, thats as big a gamble as asking Mason to be headcoach.
I dont mind Slot, but I would prefer another coach who has experienced the ups & downs with a slightly bigger team
Lol…No! It was abused
Has he at any stage played 3 at the back successfully?
I feel that if we switch to a manager who solely plays 4 at the back when we have almost 150m in wingbacks could be a complete disaster

I know I'm a hopeless optimistic but does this not read as "get your DoF sorted then we'll talk"?
It would be bizarre for JN to completely pull out of the running when there is still time to get DoF sorted and then a manager before preseason training starts
Alright, settle down Ange.I’d honestly have Postecoglou as my top target ahead of Slot, purely because I believe he is the most sure fire option we’ve been linked to (outside nagelsmann).
He’s prob the most unfashionable pick being from the SPL, and some people will hold the fact that he’s Australian against him. But tactically he’s fantastic and more importantly has had many years of experience to fine tune his tactics and also how he trains people to achieve those tactics.
As you noted, he’s a fantastic character and the players will take to him instantly and will definitely bring back a unity amongst the players that hasn’t been there for years.
With his character aswell, I’m sure he’ll turn the fans that are against him to his side in no time at all. I can remember Nuno winning over fans with a simple “we will make you proud” despite being the most dull manager we’ve ever had. Ange on the other hand is as big and likeable a character as you’ll find. Even more so than Martin Jol was.
He is incredibly highly regarded by the mega successful City Football Group from his time working for them, to the point where those in the know at Celtic fear that Ange would be one of Man City’s first phone-calls if Pep were ever to leave.
His early management style was moulded by a certain Ferenc Puskas, who was his last manager from his playing days. It was from him he became obsessed with all out attacking football, and has categorically refused to setup a team defensively ever since.
This has led to him getting a few hefty beatings in the champions league against the likes of Real Madrid, but his vigour to stand by his philosophy has to be respected.
It was while working as a manager for the City Football Group then that he was thought the ways of Pep football and he started to adjust his tactics to take some key philosophies off of Pep and implement them into his own, such as deploying inverted full backs.
Over the last decade, every club he has gone to he has been super successful if not dominant. His time managing Australia’s National team was very impressive. He’s obsessed with furthering his knowledge of managing constantly. He takes part in weekly video chats with some of the other leading Australian managers from other sports such as rugby, where they all share their ideas.
Apologies for the mega long post, but I’ve seen an awful lot of people be very disparaging about Postecoglou. And I truly feel if any of them took the time to properly look into him and his background, that their opinions would change drastically!
if it were a conditional "yes" from JN, why would we be so public with a rebuke (via the PR mouthpieces)Tottenham’s top three for sporting director features Tim Steidten

Heavy doses of copium from me but I wouldn't say it was a conditional yes but more so a "Julian won't engage in talks until you have sorted your DoF and have a clear vision of the next project" and Levy had a "you can't break up with me because I'm breaking up with you first" reaction and alerted all his journos.if it were a conditional "yes" from JN, why would we be so public with a rebuke (via the PR mouthpieces)
which search? I suspect that with agents talking as much as they do, his reputation can't be unblemished.Heavy doses of copium from me but I wouldn't say it was a conditional yes but more so a "Julian won't engage in talks until you have sorted your DoF and have a clear vision of the next project" and Levy had a "you can't break up with me because I'm breaking up with you first" reaction and alerted all his journos.
Really hope whoever the DoF we chose can take over the search completely and hopefully Levys circus of a search hasn't burned too many bridges
People keep saying this, but from what I've read we had a contingency and spoke to Tuchel in readiness for this situation. This, this...100 times this.
Contingency plans should be in place even if Conte was renewing. It's complete and utter negligence.
Slot
Ange
De Zerbi
Nagelsmann
Amorim
Will be happy with any of these 5. We'll find a way to mess it up, no doubt.
I don't think the Nagelsmann saga is over personally. And haven't seen anything ruling out De Zerbi?Count out Nagelsmann and De Zerbi, they aren't in the running!
I have to disagree. But I like the sentimentI’m really hoping Mason doesn’t turn us down. I say get him in and give him what he wants. When I see him on the touch line I have to remind myself it’s not Pep. He’s my 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice. Just hope Daniel agrees.
